ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!
The hotel restaurant is Lola 41 on the same property. Anthony the manager was verbally and aggressively abusive, displaying extreme a level of professional immaturity, the likes of which I have NEVER encountered at anywhere in Palm Beach. Not only does he lack the skills to handle a challenging situation but he presents himself to be of a “woke”mindset with tremendous resentment toward anyone he perceives to be of wealth, higher education and/or privilege which is the majority of palm beach residents. A drunk man walked over from the bar and literally crashed on our table. Not only did everything from the table fall to the floor with breaking glass everywhere, but the leg of the table destabilized causing the table top to bend down and slam onto my knee which was underneath the table. The servers were focused helping the drunken guest get up, completely ignoring my requests for a manager regarding my knee which was in pain. After my 5th request, Anthony showed up very defensive and belligerent. I wanted a record of the incident and his contact information due to my knee pain. Not only did Anthony never apologize to us, he refused to give me his name (which I only learned of later) or his business card. He then tried to falsely claim, without any medical knowledge, that the drunk had a stroke but it was obvious that the guest had too much alcohol. He actually admitted that he was more concerned for the drunk who crashed our table. When I attempted to video the damaged table, he forcefully held the fallen table top up with his hand and tried to block me from taking images of the damage. He then proceeded to shout and tell us to leave and never come back. I had to threaten to call the police to get Anthony to settle down. My friend who was present as a witness and is a litigation attorney pointed out that management was trying to cover up the restaurant’s incompetence with regards to this incident as the motive for Anthony’s aggressive and unprofessional behavior towards us. At some point, the owner showed up and offered to get our check. Since they had already ran our credit card through before the drunken guest landed on our table, we had to ask Anthony to reverse the charges. Anthony’s once again “woke” and immature response was “So you want a free meal!” The hotel ownership is completely out of touch with what is going on at the managerial level. Anthony is not the appropriate caliber of person to be representing a restaurant in palm beach. His skills and attitude are much more suitable for a position at McDonalds. Anthony’s unprofessional conduct is in stark contrast to the quality of service here over the last 4 years. Only a handful of higher-end restaurants in palm beach are able to maintain high standards as the years pass. It is often just a matter of time before most of them deteriorate in their reputation often due to their hiring of staff...
Read moreIt was my husband’s birthday and after a year of quarantining, we decided to take a much needed family getaway and stay at the White Elephant Palm Beach.
The lobby is beautiful - it’s light, airy, and I loved all the light fixtures and seating areas throughout. Right away I noticed little touches throughout the property that gave me peace of mind traveling with my family: there’s a Molekule air purifier, sanitizing stations just off the elevator, and even kits in the room with sanitizer spray, masks, anything we needed in case we forgot.
Once we arrived to the room, the kids had the best surprise - a teepee setup with sleeping bags, pillows, and a Polaroid camera loaded with film ready for them to take photos! They “camped out” in the hotel room in their adorable tent and couldn’t wait to take some polaroids. We stayed in a suite which had plenty of room to comfortably spread out with the kids staying in the Living room area on a pull out sofa. All the details stood out in the rooms - from the lighting, artwork, furniture -- all feeling modern and warm at the same time.
The property is so beautiful and peaceful. It is situated between the intracoastal waterways and the ocean. We had the opportunity to explore both. There’s an open field just across the way and an amazing walking trail along the intracoastal steps away from the property. We walked along the trail and checked out the beautiful boats and homes that line the trail. The ocean is just a short walk away on a secluded part of the beach. I also have to mention they had the cutest pink bikes that you can borrow to ride around town, which next time we’ll definitely have to plan on doing.
Within one block there are plenty of restaurants and shops. We had lunch at Henry’s, and cocktails and dinner at Lola 41, the restaurant downstairs. We went back to Lola 41 for breakfast and this was a must. I had a beautiful lox platter while my kids and husband enjoyed the most decadent waffle with strawberries and pretzel pieces on top.
The White Elephant exceeded all our expectations both in amenities, the property and the service. We felt completely safe and cared for from the time we pulled up to the time we left. There were personalized touches everywhere we looked. I could not recommend this boutique gem of...
Read moreAs a couple celebrating our anniversary, we recently had the pleasure of spending a weekend at the White Elephant on Palm Beach Island. This hotel is truly a hidden gem, combining classic elegance with modern amenities, all tucked away in the serene beauty of Palm Beach.
While the White Elephant may not be located directly on the beach, it more than makes up for it with its exceptional service. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and attentiveness. The staff made us feel like VIPs, ensuring that every aspect of our stay was taken care of. We were particularly impressed by Nelly, who went above and beyond to make our anniversary celebration unforgettable.
Nelly, the star of the White Elephant cast, designed a beautifully decorated room that exceeded our wildest dreams. It was clear that she put a lot of thought and effort into creating a romantic atmosphere for our special occasion. The anniversary decorations added a touch of magic to our stay, making us feel incredibly special and loved.
While the hotel may not offer direct beach access, it more than compensates with its luxurious facilities. The rooms are tastefully decorated, combining classic charm with modern comforts. We enjoyed the peacefulness and tranquility of the hotel, away from the hustle and bustle of the beachfront. Plus, the hotel is still conveniently located near the beach, allowing us to easily explore the stunning Palm Beach shoreline.
In addition to its beautiful accommodations, the White Elephant offers a range of amenities that cater to every need. The dining options were exceptional, with a variety of delicious dishes to choose from. We indulged in a romantic candlelit dinner at the hotel's restaurant, savoring every bite in the intimate and cozy setting.
Overall, our anniversary weekend at the White Elephant was a truly memorable experience. While the hotel may not be directly on the beach, its exceptional service, Nelly's personalized touch, and the overall charm of the hotel more than made up for it. If you're looking for a classic yet modern retreat in the heart of Palm Beach, the White Elephant is the perfect choice for a romantic getaway or...
