My wife and I spend 1-2 weeks every late February/early March in Palm Beach Gardens, a tradition we’ve been fortunate enough to enjoy for about 10 years now. On this trip each year we dedicate one night for The Breakers (where I proposed to my wife on their private beachfront). We start at the Breaker’s Seafood Bar to rage their epic spicy crab nachos while watching the sun set. After the sun sets we walk the 10-min up the road to dine at Echo to cap off the night with an unbelievable dinner. Besides the obvious stuff… (A) exceptionally delicious food (B) absolute best [and exceedingly hard to find] soufflé (preferably chocolate chip or Oreo) (C) polite and efficient service (D) epic date night vibe … this place has become and remains an integral part of my wife’s and my winter getaway tradition and I’m just so grateful that every year, Echo continues to blow us away. Keep doing the damn thang, Echo! Killin it. In closing… TLDR: (1) Palm Beach is fantastic (2) Echo has become one of my top 5 favorite restaurants in the US (food ✅ ~ vibe ✅ ~ service ✅) (3) Echo’s soufflé is so delicious that some may even consider it to be quite sexual (myself included) (4) Annual stop on the wife’s and my Palm Beach R&R vacation (5) Just spend the money, you won’t regret it

Should have read the Google reviews... So... I had above and beyond expectations. The last time I came to Florida with my family I went to Flaglers Steakhouse and HMF which were both fantastic delicious experiences, so I could not wait to go as a couple. If you’re reading this and wondering where to book if you want to eat at The Breakers, book for Flaglers or HMF. Flaglers was closed for the day, so I called to make reservations and the man on the phone recommended Echo so we booked it and were super excited. As background, we ARE super sushi lovers and do have super good sushi back in NY, so we had high expectations for delicious sushi also. We dressed super fancy, and were expecting a delicious and impressive meal! I DID have the bar set extremely high, after having been to Flaglers and HMF in the past.. so perhaps if I hadn’t gone to those before, I wouldn’t have been as disappointed. When we first arrived, valet was very strange. We parked our own car in a tight random second floor garage and asked the valet man if it was acceptable for us to park there for Echo and he said yes. No one offered to wave or take our car upon driving in because the valet person wasn’t at the bottom or top when we were driving in, he was sitting in a chair randomly between 2 cars on the second floor. We don’t mind parking our own car but we had been so excited to have this night be one of those super fancy nights so this was our first shrug of the evening. Then we walked down the parking garage and saw a line outside so our excitement went up again, wherever there is a line, usually that means the place is good!! So we get there and all seems great and fine again. The ambiance was 4/5, but still not as fancy as HMF or Flaglers, but that’s okay cuz it’s also different style. Then we were offered a Happy Hour special for the sushi and drinks since we had an early dinner, all drinks and sushi half off. We should have known better. Usually, happy ours or discount specials exist to get rid of the older food, or it’s simply not their best dish so that’s why they sell it for less. We messed up. We ended up only ordering from the sushi menu, because it IS a sushi place, thinking that we were going to get mouth-watering sushi. It was okay. Not bad by any means. But completely plain, completely mediocre, a little chewy, it tasted very clean which is yes a good thing, but it wasn’t very flavorful and didn’t make our eyes glisten. It wasn’t Breakers quality. No offense, but this place actually hurt and lowered my view of The Breakers. A place like The Breakers should have better quality food. Now, we lucked out. We only had to pay half because we arrived during happy hour. But I’d give it 2 stars if we had to pay full price. We went to HMF after which we will give a 4.5 stars for, but we agreed that we wish we never went to Echo and just went to HMF and ate there. (HMF also sold the same exact rolls as Echo.... so don’t go to Echo you might as well just go straight to HMF). With every review, we still like to leave some positives too. We agreed that we would’ve liked to try something NOT on the happy hour menu. Maybe those dishes would have been better! We also did love the ambiance, the outdoor dining was very pretty and nice. Our waiter was very kind and accommodating towards allergies. The wine tasted great too! We are glad we got to try it and we can see how it’s a 5/5 for many other customers!! But if you are a sushi lover, you most likely have had better!

While visiting WPB we were SO looking forward to this evening, as they restaurant had been recommended so highly. We were greeted by very friendly host staff...then it just got snooty and was pretty average from there on. Our waitress was nice but briskly efficient, always in a hurry, not super warm and friendly which was surprising as this was touted and 'the place' to eat while in town. The menu was simple and not really inventive overall and only had a few interesting items (that we should have ordered individuals of instead of being talked into the 'sharing' menu and then sharing other plates) like the Grand Marnier Shrimp. My advice: get a few of the signature dishes, don't share, there really isn't enough if you actually want to eat and DO NOT ORDER dessert. Our friend had her birthday and saw the 'boat' so we ordered it. Silly $$$ and just not worth it. Soufflés were fun to look at but below average at best, and there was little else on the plate. A handful of chocolate dipped fortune cookies would have been an improvement. Overall, we weren't impressed, as a group we spent over $1100 and left pretty underwhelmed. We definitely won't be back...

NOT ALLERGY FRIENDLY Pretty good but being owned by the Brakers you would have expected Asian perfection, its not the case! Sushi is Excellent but again they have the right chefs fir that. Having Pecking duck & Pecking duck dishes on the Menu you would have expected for this to be available to everybody but NOT because Chef decided to give "his touch" by Flash frying it in same oil where they fry all Shell fish; so allergic people are not in consideration. Well that is not it, several other dishes are not available because of cross contamination with shellfish. Me and my kids are allergic to shellfish and that is why we only go to high end asian restaurants where the least expected is two different oils for frying. Not to mention that being a Pecking duck lover NEVER have i heard of flash frying it (not in China, not here) Atmosphere is Great and so is the service; sushi Fantastic, some dishes good some others just ok. Basically inconsistent.

Echo at The Breakers - A Palm Beach Gem! If you’re looking for an extraordinary dining experience in Palm Beach, Echo at The Breakers is a must-visit! The ambiance is sophisticated yet inviting, perfect for a special night out or a casual meal with friends. The Asian-inspired menu is diverse and every dish is crafted with fresh, high-quality ingredients. The sushi is phenomenal, and the cocktails are expertly mixed—try their signature drinks, you won’t be disappointed! The staff is attentive and always ensures you have a top-notch dining experience. I’ve never had a dish here that I didn’t absolutely love, but the Kalbi Wagyu Flatiron Steak and Chilean sea bass are standouts. Overall, Echo has been my go-to spot on Palm Beach Island for years. Whether you’re a local or visiting, this restaurant will exceed your expectations every time.

Our last dinner in Palm Beach so picked this place for the sushi originally but ended up not getting any because the prices seemed a little steep and I knew I could easily spend 100 and still be hungry. Went with some of the recommended dishes and it was some of the most delicious food I've enjoyed since my stay here. We shared the edamame (nothing special), the Peking Duck Bao Buns (wow, big chunks of duck in a soft bun), the Wagyu Filet steak (medium rare with Korean flavoring, delicious!) and the Miso Glazed Sea Bass (highly recommend this, hands down the most flavorful fish dish I've had in years!) For dessert we tried the soufflé, coconut and Oreo...very light and easy to enjoy even when full because it's just egg whites and sugar! Good service, nice ambience and someplace I'd return to if I'm back in Palm Beach.
