When I first moved to Palm Coast in November, 2021 I contacted Spectrum for internet and TV service, since I had Spectrum since the 90's in Kentucky. They told me it could take them up to 60 days to determine if Spectrum was available at my address and informed me that did not include holidays, so to expect a response middle of January. I called AT&T, and they installed internet withing a few days. Fast forward to March 2023 and my wife wanted local tv. Spectrum had a special for 29.99 for tv and 49.99 for internet for 1 year. They are deceptive in that advertisement, since they have a surcharge of 22.00 for local TV service. Since I had them in the past and my neighbors recently had Spectrum connected, I decided to give it a try. The Spectrum technician was at my house the next day and had us connected in no time. That evening I tried to print a document, printer wouldn't connect. I tried multiple times and although it worked on Spectrum in Kentucky, it would not connect here. Then my wife tried using the internet at the same time I was on; It wouldn't connect both of us, one or the other would be knocked off. Then we found out the TV buffered anytime one of us got on the internet. I called and cancelled after 6 days. I spoke to a very nice lady over the phone who cancelled my service and told me I could return the cable box to The Spectrum store or UPS store. The next day, I stopped by the Spectrum store and was nicely told, "Sorry for the confusion, but we don't take the equipment returns here, it needs to be dropped off at the UPS store". That was icing on the cake. I'm not sure why the difference in service from Kentucky to Palm Coast, but Spectrum lost my business permanently after this trial. I would suggest an etch a sketch or tin cans with string before I would tell anyone to try Spectrum for...
Read moreWhat a nightmare this day has been. I went into the palm coast store to activate a mobile line, returned home to learn that my internet was off. Called Spectrum and imagine my surprise when they told me their notes say that I went into the store earlier and voluntarily disconnected my internet account. This turned into a 7 hour ordeal because the calls kept dropping. I explained to 7 agents that I never had a conversation with anyone about canceling my internet. Jason in sales from the SC call center was helpful with getting me back online, no real promotion but whatever, I just need internet I don't care about incentives or any of that. My kids have homework, I have work, my service should've never been canceled and LIED ABOUT! The store agent was OBVIOUSLY under the influence of drugs. He smelled like weed, he had 420 stickers on his phone, eyes were crimson red, hands were dirty, and he was laying down on the desk while he was helping us!!! I couldn't believe my eyes, and I'm 420 friendly so I wasn't going to mention it but you don't let it affect your work. He kept yawning every 3 minutes like we were interrupting his sleep. I transferred a phone line and wanted to upgrade my phone while at the store but his demeanor made me feel like I was a burden to him so I opted to do my upgrade over the phone just to keep things to a minimum, so I smiled and thanked him and left. Never knowing that my internet would be disconnected and now here it is at the end of the day, I still cant connect to internet because after restarting my service, the spectrum equipment I have can't be reactivated and they shipped new equipment, I have to wait for an appointment tomorrow morning with a...
Read moreThis review is more for Spectrum policy than this specific store itself. The staff have always been kind and their knowledge levels are at least average on the whole.
However, today, Spectrum lost a customer, for both cellular and internet services. For the second time in a row, they refused to sell me a phone directly, instead saying for fraud reasons it had to be shipped to me. This wasn't the only reason, but it was the "last straw".
In one instance, the Spectrum employee even had the boxed phone on the counter next to the register, collecting our information, before putting it under the counter and saying they couldn't give it to us.
So, we went to the Verizon store instead and purchased two new devices and a 3 year service plan. There were no issues, and everything was smoothly executed in a couple of hours.
Despite having my SSN, DL#, PhotoID, address, credit card number, and physical access to the cellular phones Spectrum already provides service for, they still can't sell me a product they have in the store?
This baffling corporate policy is infuriating and dubious in its sincerity. I can't imagine what "special quality" Spectrum has that has prompted this practice, but it just doesn't add up to me.
Combine this experience with the dodgy reliability of both the internet and cellular services along with the irritating "autopay" requirement, and this just isn't the kind of customer service I require.
Sorry,...
