Palm Harbor Grill — Restaurant in Palm Coast

Wife and I drove an hour and 40 minutes and had a late lunch there today.

We initially wanted to go just around the corner to Portugal Wine Bar and Grill but found out they were closed to give their well deserving staff some time to be with their families.

When we walked in and we're seated and order our drinks and appetizer. Drinks came in a timely manner but appetizer took a long time.

The restaurant was a little busy but not overly busy. Waitstaff seemed to be understaffed and our waitress INDY was very nice. She apologized and said food was going to take a little long.

When we entered the restaurant there were 3 men sitting at a table as soon as you walk in. We found out later the one of those 3 men was the restaurant owner. He had his back turned to the patrons and never once bothered to greet anyone as they walked in, nor THANK them as they left this place. The entire time he just sat at this table and jibber jabbed with his two buddies.

Finally our food came out and my wife's octopus and potatoes were burnt but efible. We did not complainbecause it wasn't that bad and food had taken a long time to be served. Staff was doing the best they could. I can not blame them.

I went to use the men's room and there were no paper towels on the dispenser.

You would think this guy would get off his butt and help out his staff or at LEAST go around the tables and greet and talk with the people OR at the very least THANK them for coming in. He could care less about the people that are bringing money into his establishment.

If you are not from the area and want Portuguese food, do yourself a big favor and go to Portugal Wine Bar and Grill just around the corner. You'll have a much better experience and the food is incredibly better as well.....and NO, I am not related nor do I have any financial interest to Portugal Wine and Grill nor the owner. Stopped by here late in the day didn’t realize they were about to close . The waiter was super friendly, helpful and just all around very great . The service was probably some of the best I’ve had . The menu is definitely a little different from your typical styles but the food is fresh and very tasty . The atmosphere in the restaurant was very nice . Music was just at the right level to enjoy a conversation but still feel relaxed . Only complaint I have is only with my dish I got the 8oz new your strip steak with their homemade sauce , rice , and fries . The flavor was just plain delicious but I had to send my steak back because it was undercooked , and when I got it back I think maybe the meat itself was a bad cut of meat with several really tough gristle. I try to never base my reviews off just one item so with that said. The other dishes were just delicious. Garlic shrimp appetizer was mmm mmm good . Rice was cooked perfectly and so was the fries . We wanted to try palm harbor grill after friends of ours catered their party from them. Sadly, it was disappointing. First, we ordered the 3 appetizer sampler of three different fish; after 10 minutes the waiter comes back and says they are out of both fish and shrimp fish cakes. Instead, we settle for calamari which was not enough to feed our party of 4, and not cooked correctly. Then we go to order four half chicken with shrimp and rice entrees and the waiter comes back a second time to the table and proceeds to tell us they are out of chicken and only have one 1/2 chicken left. Instead of offering us the menus to choose something else he suggests the steak entrée, which was god-awful. The service was terrible. Our table was left without refills until the very end and we got a bill $150 for meals we didn’t even eat! Our entire experience was not pleasurable. We ended up taking the food home that we didn’t even eat to give it to our dog. Our dog wouldn’t touch the food. I am not sure why or how this restaurant gets such great reviews; I am assuming it’s all family...
