I was recently down this way from North Carolina to visit family. I decided that I wanted something sweet and this place was close to my rental unit. I went inside and it seemed like your typical mom and pop place, with nothing standing out as sketchy or offensive. But the interaction I saw made me think twice about supporting this business. I watched a couple order a large ice cream with two different flavors. The girl behind the counter, who looked all of 15 or 16, happily made their order. But before she could give the ice cream to the customers, ann older man (I’m assuming the owner or at least the manager) went completely off on her in front of all the customers. He berated this kid about making it wrong because large ice cream has three flavors. This man snatched the cup from the teen and tossed it in the trash. He didn’t seem to grasp that the customers ordered their ice cream this way, and this man did not care even after the customers were withered this to him. The scene was awkward and really cringe to see someone treat an employee, a kid, that way for doing exactly what the customer wanted. I left because I didn’t need ice cream that badly. Afterwards; when I got together with my family in Palm Coast and Todd the a bout my experience, they were glad I hadn’t eaten there because this business has frequently been caught up e using its plastic tasting spoons and even have allegedly been seen pulling spoons out of their trash to wash and re use them. If true, this is disgusting and a major health violation. Those thin plastic spoons are not meant for that and unlike metal, they cannot be steam cleaned or bleached without damaging the spoons and allowing microplastic to get into the food you are eating. This should be investiagated. Even if not true, what I saw was enough for me to never want to try and eat here again. I see the owners are active on this forum, and I hope you know that you should be ashamed of yourself for treating a kid working for...
Read moreI was looking forward to a cold treat and found this place closest to my house. First time visit and since I worked outdoors all day in the heat was looking forward to this. The 2 girls working this Sat evening were pleasant and helpful. I was looking over the different ice cream and italian ices mentioning a few hoping they would have asked me if I'd like a sample which I wished now I had asked. The cherry italian ice looked good in the container but once in my bowl it was mostly white and dry, almost tasteless, I also got a scoop of peach ice cream which tasted like old vanilla with some pieces of what I think were peach skins in it? Not sure. Disappointing over the small amount given for the price. We had it to go so taking it back wasn't an option since I through most of it away at home....
Read moreIce cream was tasty. Very creamy, temperature was perfect. Really good ice cream if you ask me. I ordered a small because I saw the person in front of me had ordered a small. My cup had so much real estate still left in it. I got whip cream on just so it was visually more pleasing to start eating, than 3/4 full cup. Was charged .75 cents for the whipped cream. Didn't say a word just paid. I think for what I got, it was not worth the money, especially the spritz of whip cream. I'm not one of those people who will say for $x amount I can get xxx from the supermarket. Because it truly is different in quality and freshness at a shoppe etc etc. But I will say there are other places you can go to get good quality, fresh made ice cream that the sizes are filled consistently...
