Welcoming all film and performing arts patrons, Camelot owners Ric and Rozene Supple have a long and proud history of presenting the best of the best in film and live performance art, as well as welcoming and supporting the LGBTQ communities; sometimes inevitably in the face of opposition by those who are less enlightened.
Camelot Theatres is located on the south side of the Palm Springs Mall parking lot at 2300 Baristo Road, Palm Springs. Camelot Theatres is a three-screen movie house and entertainment complex specializing in first-run art film, foreign film, independent film features and special events.
Newly renovated in 1999, it is one of a handful of theatres in the country with its level of technical sophistication. As the wizards of sound and projection have continued to innovate, Camelot Theatres has kept pace. The large house (548 seats) also contains a performance platform for live performances and the small house (152 seats) contains a lecture stage. The theatre is programmed 52 weeks a year and is also available for group sales and rental.

We're in Palm Springs to see David Sedaris. We roll up to the theatre and there's a line of 100 people deep waiting to get in. We have reserved seats through Ticketmaster. The line moves at a snails pace as we bake in 95° heat in full sun and me in a suit. My wife, of course, is dressed very appropriately for desert weather. We get close to the door. It's 2:15 and the show was supposed to start at 2:00. A man with a bullhorn comes outside. "Ladies and gentlemen, Ticketmaster screwed up and mislabeled our seating chart. Rest assured if you bought a ticket, you are getting in.". We get to the door to go in, a man says your seats are not available, you can't sit together. Deal breaker, they offer to give a refund. I'm filling out something for the refund when the miracle happens and there are two seats together. We're seated, David comes on in pantaloons, he was delightful. Cozy theater with comfortable seats.
