William J. McAdam Park — Attraction in Palmdale

A desent park to visit with the basic necessesities however, this park can be unsafe. There is a mobile home that is parked in the northeast most corner of the parking lot, it is there everyday during the complete park hours. The people who own it treat the park as if the park is their resisdence, they have multitudes of their friends there throughout the day. This group continually throw parties with lots of alcohol, marijuana and other drugs. They are usually loud and their visitors are threatening. I was threatened by their friends when I tried to park in a handicapped space, my car has handicapped plates, but I ended having to park at a farther spot because they were using the parking spots for their speakers for the load hip hop music. The park Rangers were there that day and when a group od us complained the Rangers told us that we should just use another park, they didn't want to get involved. For your families safety, this park should be avoided. The city doesn't care about visitor safety, either that or maybe they are getting a payoff or free drugs from these occupants of the mobile home. If the city would rid the park of these squatters, it could be a nice park, but for now it is unruly, violent at times, open drug and alcohol use and park Rangers do NOTHING to...

Review for March 6th 2022. W.J McAdam Memorial Park is located in east Palmdale California. Is a local park for the local residents and anyone to come and enjoy. It does have a pool in which the public and come and swim during the summer time. This park has been here as far as I can remember. I've been in Palmdale for over 20 years now and this is one of the original parks in east Palmdale. Great Park to come in jog meditate or relax. Good spot to have a hot coffee in the morning. Park overall is stunning. Landscaping is on par, high amount of parking, and pretty clean. Haven't really seen the restrooms. Now why the 2 stars? Everything about the little kids playground needs to be replaced. Much of the material is damaged and incredibly worn down. Bizarre how up kept the rest of the park is compared to the playground for smaller children. The ground is also very hard and doesn't absorb shock nearly as well.
