Dragon Express Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Palmdale

The food is literally just “o.k.” It’s not bad but it’s not amazing! I would say it’s the most decent takeout place I’ve been to though. I guess if you’re not from NY or FL you just accept what you can get but this place is missing a lot of popular Chinese food dishes I’m used to:… no pupu platter, no dumplings, no sesame chicken or general Tao’s, no duck, no fried scallops or fried chicken wings and the egg rolls are actually spring rolls! .. I had the bbq pork-it was fresh but not juicy and no bbq sauce on it (I’ll ask for extra sauce next time) I also had teriyaki chicken but it was very dry. The rice and lo mein (probably sat at under the warmers too long) tasted like it was sitting for awhile (I think I got the last of it and they were refilling it as I was leaving) I asked for cheese wontons and heard the lady at the counter yell to the cook “cheese wonton” but I got home and saw it was crab rangoon which was a nice surprise. The service was nice, the ladies at the counter were very nice and professional but the additional charges for spicy sauce, sweet and sour sauce and soy sauce was ridiculous! .. not normal at all to charge that much for condiments to help the food you serve taste better. But this is still becoming one of our go to places lol. I LOVED the orange...

I’m updating this review I wrote about a year ago because I can’t believe some people are spreading hate and lies just to bring down a competitor, I feel I must say something! I’ve been to many Chinese food places in Palmdale / Lancaster — and this one truly stands out.

Why? Lower prices, generous portions (they give you AT LEAST 3 scoops for each item you ordered!), and the food is fresh and delicious. The spicy ribs are a must-try — so flavorful and tender. And Thai Tea Boba!!

It’s a hidden gem. Don’t let the negativity fool you — go and taste for yourself!

Love this place! The food looks amazing and tastes so good!! Every time I went, the boss and their workers are SO friendly and gave me lots of food! Totally worth the price!! I sometimes have to save it for another meal. Definitely recommend!!

Kongbao Chicken and the Ribs, and Celery Chicken are my favorite. Their orange chicken is a game changer. Tastes like home! Also their green beans are so fresh too. Over all, 9.5out of 10!! This is my favorite restaurant...

Ok, the place inside doesn't have the fanciest decor....but this place rocks! They push so much food in a 1 - 3 item plate or bowl that they can barely close the top. The food they serve buffet style is pretty good. The chow mein isn't my favorite, but they make up for it with the orange chicken, bbq pork, mushroom and szechwan (sp?) chicken. Very reasonably priced especially for what they give you. Two people can share a 2 or 3 item $6.00 plate and be full. You can order a la carte which is really good to amazing. The paper wrapped chicken is crazy crazy good. The egg foo young with the sauce they have is also delicious. It took me several times going back before I realized you can order anything chinese that isn't in the buffet...it's just a little more in line with the pricing you see at any other good chinese restaurant. The owners are really nice, hard working, and caring people. I appreciate an owner who cares about their customers and quality...and that's why we go back...
