Alice's Dog Park — Attraction in Pasadena

One of the better dog parks I've encountered, but definitely still has its flaws. The park is pretty clean, with occasional poop that does not get picked up by the owner. Majority of the dogs and owners are friendly. One main issue is there are always those owners that arent attentive. They'll be distracted either chatting in a group or on their phones. Usually its fine, but it does occasionally turn into an issue which I've witnessed with my multiple visits. My latest visit, my dog was the one to be harrassed (chased, barked, nipped at) by a group of dogs which was the first for me and her. I understand dogs rough playing, but she was clearly trying to get away-overwelmed and outnumbered (1 against 4). I had to seperate my dog from the pack by lifting her away all while the other owners did nothing to tame theirs. One dog even went ahead and repeatedly jumped onto me, nipping at my dog. The owners were still no where in sight. I literally had to pull the untrained dog off of me (was pretty hard as it had no collar). The owner only appeared once I yelled, "WHOSE DOG IS THIS". So if you do come here, WATCH YOUR DOGS whether it be your dog causing issues, or your dog getting into one due to neglience of others. The park is huge, so its easy to lose sight. Dont get me wrong but, for anyone who brings their kids under 4'5 or under the age of 7 I wouldn't recommend bringing kids or babies in there. Because I brought my cousin's dog here (German shepherd mix with Australian) who was 11 months at the time, minding his own business until he saw the little girl running around, climbing trees and petting dogs. When that little girl saw my cousin's dog chilling doesn't want to bothered she goes up to him and wants to pet him, ofcourse my cousin's dog barked at her and she backs away scared and runs away (bad move) my cousin's dog think she wants to play and he wants to go play with her. The little girl runs towards a tree starts climbing, she doesnt noticed the dog coming towards her, until the dog starts barking at her, she got scared and started crying, her dad got her, I had to pull my cousin's dog away from her. Mind you we were only there for 20 to 25 minutes at the park. We usually stay about an hour to let her dog run around and get his engery out cause, her and her dog live in a apartment. So of course we had to leave and the little girl stayed.

So with anyone with kids please do not bring your kids in the big dog park area, I wouldn't mind if they watch but on the other side of the fence. It's hard for us to bring her dog here cause we have to check to see if there are no kids around in the big...

On several occasions I have found men to be very defensive about their dogs. They allow them to fence fight, bully other dogs and they don’t do anything about it. If you try to say something the following can occur which happened last Sunday morning:

This time, a dog, owned by a tall, young white man (he knows who he is), it was a small white dog, continuously bothering my dog. I would pick up my dog and move him to the other side of the park, because it kept jumping on him, who has a very bad back and the dog continued to follow us around, and jumped on me from behind. I fell over and trylied to grab him off my dog and the dogs owner came over and did not grab his dog, he grabbed my wrist forcefully with both his hands and twisted it while I was on the ground. I’m nearly 70 yrs old!!. I was so shocked but he took off or else I would’ve called the police.

Then some other young man came up to me saying everything was fine until I showed up (with my 13-year-old invalid pug, obviously there to cause a commotion and attack other dogs ).

I’m going to be looking for them both now as I got their photos. Irresponsible dog owners are everywhere and even though this is park is nicer than most, keep your eyes open.
