Possibly the worse store in the entire state. The manager (Gus) and the supervisors are very disrespectful and unprofessional and descriminate against people. The manager (Gus) treats his employees with very little respect and will get into any altercation. This man gets into his employees faces, spits in their face, and curses his employees out if things don't go as he wants. I was once an employee and this man got in my face and threatened to attack me if I didn't leave the store because i was convinced the company was taking money away from my check. The manager got angry and THREATENED me and balled his fist ready to fight. They are very unprofessional. I threatened to call the police and was fired for it. I was scared for my life for this man made terroristic threats against me telling me 'He will beat my ass' and now this company has my address and I am still scared for my life. I was called by another man telling me that if I file any complaint or call the police they will arrest me for simply speaking my rights. The company does not follow their own rules and regulations and they do not file any incident reports. They have been doing illegal things ever since I've worked there. Unfortunately this company and GUS is still working. I would suggest to never shop at this place they treat they're employees and costumer a with...
Read moreShoppers today may not believe this, but the building housing MyUnique Thrift Paterson is ACTUALLY 120 YEARS OLD! It's original purpose was as one of the first department stores in the history of downtown Paterson. It was originally known as Quackenbush and built to replace the original store which burned down in the Great Paterson Fire of 1902. Quackenbush took up six floors of the current building with each floor covering a different type of product. Walk to the middle of the current store, and you'll see a double spiral staircase. THAT IS THE ORIGINAL STAIRCASE. An architectural marvel. Although it has been refurbished several times, it has still held up over the decades. Today's store, while lacking the charm of the original, still pays homage to the spirit of Quackenbush. MyUnique Thrift Paterson has the standard of a true store of this kind. Good products at good prices. The service can be a bit impersonal but it's a different...
Read moreIn the beginning MyUnique Thrift was a descent store with great prices, but In the last two years the quality has gone down and the prices have gone up. The staff and management do not care if the merchandise is dirty, broken or has missing parts. The product is placed on the shelf "as is" - the workers throw or drop the merchandise on the shelf. One can hear and see how the merchandise is handled in the sorting room and the lack of care the workers have for the products. I have personally witnessed workers break merchandise while stocking the shelves - granted it is a thrift store but a consumer does not want to spend 💰 on a broken product - no matter the dollar amount. Lastly, the basement area is a hang out for homeless people. People are sitting in chairs and sleeping in the basement area, and taking their kids to basement to play with the merchandise. The basement has become a shelter and a...
