I stopped by while visiting the city and had about three hours to spend. I asked if they had any books about Paterson so I could learn more about the city during my stay ā surprisingly, they couldnāt find a single one. It felt ironic that a city library wouldnāt have something about its own local history or culture.
Another odd part of the visit was needing to show ID just to use the restroom. I understand it might be for safety reasons, but itās a bit inconvenient for visitors from out of town.
That said, I really liked the building ā it has an old charm to it, and the architecture feels like it has stories to tell. The staff were polite, but the library could definitely do more to showcase the history of the city...

I recently saw a flyer advertising that they now have movies online that members of the library can rent for free with their library card. They offer many other programs for the holidays , ECT.
