Ulrich Meat Market — Attraction in Pella

Is there a way I can give 10 stars? I can’t rave enough about Ulrich Meat Market. Across three visits in just two days, the staff made us feel like family. My father-in-law and I were met with genuine warmth, patience, and plenty of laughter—despite our endless questions and terrible jokes. The girls behind the counter were fantastic and made this one of the most positive experiences of our entire weekend in the area.

They let us sample nearly everything in the shop, and we couldn’t resist going back twice. The quality of the products is top-notch—everything we tried was superb. I couldn’t get enough of the beef sticks, and I’m kicking myself for not buying more bacon once I realized how incredible it was.

Ulrich is now a permanent addition to our yearly stop—right after Jaarsma—during our Balloon Fest camping trip. Outstanding service and unbeatable flavor....

We're able to find chorizo here, which we haven't ever found anywhere else in Iowa (I'm sure it's around, we just never have stumbled upon it before). It is a small business on the square, but my husband found out from them that they ship in their meat instead of preparing it themselves like their competitor on the square does, so it's not entirely a small local business.

I was eating breakfast a few doors down and this shop caught my eye. Stopped in after a wonderful breakfast. The young lady in the shop greeted us happily and seemed genuinely glad we were there. She answered some questions and then packed up some of the tempting looking Beef sticks. The slight smoky smell in the shop was great.

I headed home and ate a few of these during my long car ride and was so glad I bought plenty to share at home. Great place and will definitely return...
