This lady is the worst pubtender I have encountered. She ignores patrons who have empty glasses and is very rude. I have witnessed her text messaging, behind the counter, on multiple occasions behind the counter while patrons sit with empty glasses. Yesterday (8/15/2021) the pub had probably 15 patrons. I sat with an empty glass for around 10 minutes, other patrons were being served, so I waited patiently. The pubtender picked up her phone and started messaging in front of us (a few regulars). I asked: "Are you messaging Duffy?" Because it would make sense if she was looking for some help. She responded with: "I am asking for help." I thought cool, but then she adds in a sparky tone, "Not that is any of your business, How does it even affect you?" I slowly pulled down the pizza box lid in front of me, and looked at the empty glass and didn't say a single word. She stormed off, and proceeded to help every single other patron in the pub before coming back to me. I can't believe this is the type of experience the pub is looking for, so I reached out to Marty Duffy, and he said, "We love this lady and so does our Team." I stopped going to the pub over a year ago due to bad service, but decided to give it another go since they have great beer. Unfortunately, I will not be revisiting this establishment for another year or so. I hope Marty can get things figured out.

Get your “Tulip” beer here (see photo)—made from a red variety. It does not taste floral. The flavor reminded me of gold ale. Indoor & outdoor seating. It was quieter outside. Large beer selection, including cider. They also serve soda. Quick service, but no food besides peanuts. Their TVs were on ESPN/2. When asked if we could watch our home baseball team, we were out of luck because they have limited channels. They would’ve accommodated otherwise. Plenty of items on the walls and ceilings to get your attention. Parts are from the 1980s, like a boombox and working arcade games: Burgertime, Galaga, & Ms. Pacman. The pay phone was inactive but a good photo opp. Nice mural out back (see photo)

The atmosphere at The Cellar Peanut pub is quite nice. It is one of the best local distributor of local breweries in the area. It is in the middle of downtown Pella and there is a lot to explore in the area as well. As for the choices they are amazing. They have so many different brews on tap. I really enjoy the fact they allow you to taste different beers for free. I personally like trying new beers and local brews when I am in a new area and the Peanut Pub doesn't disappoint. With all that said if you want to enjoy a cold brew and like trying new ones it is definitely a great place to stop in. There are so many choices and you would never be able to try them all in one go.

Sure, there’s not a lot going on in the area but this place is all you need. Highly recommended. If you stop “for one or two” while passing by you will want to stay for longer and be sorry to have to be on your way. The place is a treasure.

The best beer selection I have ever seen. Not just because of the large variety, but the quality of the offerings is fantastic. You will not be disappointed. I have been here dozens of times and I know I’ve never been. Great Moscow Mule variations as well.

Unless you have a particular favorite, you’ll need help and the bar staff are more than willing to engage with you and want to make sure you make a good selection for your desire. It can get crowed but I’ve never seen a problem.

There can be some younger boorish people there who take up the bartender’s time with insipid comments about the “hoppiness” and “mouthfeel” of a particular beer. Sorry, it's not the bar's fault, but that drives me to distraction and so I have to drop a star. Best times seem to be early afternoon or after 9 or so to...

The first time I came here was in June to look at flowers in town and went back this Saturday hoping to see the two bartenders that helped me the first time—there they were! I believe it was Alan and Gloria. Two splendid young people ! Very helpful to find a beer I like (I’m a wine person) and attentive with other customers. Sounds like they know a lot of people by name, and the people we were sitting by at the bar had a similar rave about them. If all the bartenders are this way, I will be back. Not always do I care for a bartender to make conversation with but they are so funny. Nice Christmas style inside. Good food recommendations too, were talking up the other local places and you know they want to help other businesses just by that. Good team work, good peanuts, good time. See you...
