I took my children last week to Bruce beach. I was very excited after the write up in the newspaper and all. When I got there I was shocked! Glass everywhere, trash everywhere. I felt extremely unsafe!!! I made my kids keep their shoes on the whole time, because I was scared they might step on a needle or something. So much broken glass!!! It really was that nasty. We left after 10 minutes! I am very, very sad. This was a community effort and to see how it's been treated is very disheartening! I suggest to anyone who has children, please do not bring them here. It might be good to launch a kayak or fish (with other people-do not go to this are alone please!)

Probably not ideal for kids. It’s a little rugged and over grown. Picnic area is over grown. Beach was small but secluded seeming. Free parking and garbage cans on site and a few picnic benches. Nice view. They may be neglecting taking care of this beach since the city is going to rebuild the entire thing.

I cannot recommend this park enough! The city really did a beautiful job! I'm so proud of the work our local area did in preserving this space for the wildlife and the natural eco system. Again this park is beautiful! The photos really don't do it justice!

We were new to the area not long ago and have frequented this beach in the last 6 months. We mainly come out for the fishing but I have some information to pass along. First off, there is an elderly man who tans on this beach almost naked... not ideal for kids at all! Quite frequently there will be transients at the picnic area which can be a little unsettling if there aren’t many people.. So some of the positives are that we see staff planting, cleaning up the park and tidying. People who visit, to include myself, often clean up the trash...

Ocean Hour posted this on Facebook - I don't think it is safe to go into the water.....Tomorrow we will have two cleanups: Bruce Beach and Veterans Memorial Park. Due to the immense amount of rain this week, it is expected the bacteria levels in the water will be off the charts. So we are asking you, if you attend one of these sites, PLEASE do not get in the water. We want everyone...
