Read moreWe went to Blue Wahoos Stadium for the 4th of July show. Inside the stadium, everything was fine — the staff, security, and service were good overall. However, there needed to be better organization around the kids playing wiffle ball. It was chaotic, with balls being hit into people who were sitting on the field.
Getting basic event information ahead of time was also a challenge. There was no clear FAQ anywhere online or on social media — things like which age groups got in free, whether “no beverages” meant you couldn’t bring your own water bottle, or if wagons and strollers were allowed. These details would have really helped.
Parking was another issue. The lot was completely full by 5:30 p.m., so we were lucky to grab one of the last spots. Getting into the stadium was unnecessarily confusing — about 300+ people were stuck in line at one gate before anyone announced that three other gates were open. Better signage or communication would have made a big difference.
The real nightmare, though, was leaving. It took over 30 minutes just to back out of our parking spot, and then another 40+ minutes just to get one block away from the lot. There was no one directing traffic — it was total gridlock with cars at a standstill, and no one letting anyone out. I saw one police officer standing at W Main and S Reus St, but instead of directing traffic, he was yelling at drivers for using the “wrong” lane, even though both lanes were already being used to exit.
The stadium really needs to fix its traffic flow plan for big events. Having families stuck in packed cars for that long, with no organization or help, is not just frustrating — it...
Read moreWent to first game ever in my life this month. Not the hot afternoon on bleachers that I was expecting. Stadium seats, cup holders, and very short concession lines OH MY. Wonderful day at the ballpark. Wide range of foods, drinks alcoholic and non, kid play area, water mister access, interactive entertainment for young and old alike between most innings, easy to get to restrooms......the shaved ice stand let's kids choose and pump their own syrup of choice, alcohol can be purchased 2 at a time w your ID, bring your own mit in case you are lucky enough to get a fly ball. Cash or debit or credit and an ATM near at hand. This stadium takes outdoor comfort way up. Several handicap areas so ALL can enjoy. Fireworks show after the game just goes on and on and is very well done/planned. Not simply a few random booms. Any complaints?....just two. Let the crowd know about between innings activities better/louder. Some things were half over or started so quickly that we didn't get to see them in full. Would loved to have known ahead about the armed services mascot racing for video recording. And have more non deep fried food options at concessions. But wow what a great baseball team from the players all the way to the clean up crew. Teamwork...
