Great statue. More works by Preston Jackson at the Riverside museum.

Updated 10/18/2024 And find his studio and works for sale at the contemporary Arts Center. Also displayed in the studio are works by his wife and daughter (horribly lame, but notes next time with names) This venue also houses the studios of other great, local Peoria Artists. Excellent likeness of Richard Pryor. Sculptor Preston Jackson has done an amazing job. The statue freezes Pryor in time with microphone in hand delivering one of his famous stand-up routines. This is a nice tribute to one of the best stand-up comedians of all time and one of Peoria's most famous celebrities. The statue is a great addition to the newly redesigned Washington...

The sculptor Preston Jackson did a good job creating Richard Pryor's near-perfect image. Pryor makes the whole corner his stage with a microphone talking about social issues and telling stories in a funny way. Pryor was more of a storyteller than a comedian, who went through some tough times, personally and financially, on and off throughout his whole life....
