Urgent: Incident at Playground on 8/9

On Saturday, August 9th, my children were with my mother at the playground. Everything was fine until my mom noticed a middle-aged man wearing a badge near my 6-year-old daughter. She briefly turned away to attend to my 2-year-old, and when she turned back, she saw the man touch my daughter.

My mother immediately screamed, and the man ran away.

I came to the facility three separate times requesting to review the security camera footage, as this incident is unacceptable and deeply concerning. No supervisor was available during my visits. I left my phone number with the lifeguard on duty (a very pleasant young man), but no one has called me back.

I am worried that by now the camera footage may have been erased. This was not only inappropriate contact with a child, but also a serious safety issue. What concerns me even more is that no one around seemed to notice that this man was circling around a small child.

Used to bring my daughter here and granddaughter. All those years you were lucky to find a swing that worked 😕. Due to gentrification, the entire playground was re-done. Same with the baseball field on 8th and Poplar. 20 years of taking my children there it was not managed well. It's sad that it takes neighbors of a different hue to get tax dollars to make a playground fun and safe for kids. The playground today, is great, my granddaughter always talks about the before...
