I am utterly disappointed with the lack of empathy and professionalism exhibited by Brand Nail Studio in a recent interaction. I had prebooked and paid a deposit for a nail appointment two weeks prior. Unfortunately, due to a sudden and tragic death in my family, I had to attend the funeral at the same time as my scheduled appointment.
Upon learning of the conflicting events, I promptly called Brand Nail Studio as soon as they opened on Monday morning at approximately 10:26am. Instead of receiving understanding and support during this difficult time, I was met with indifference and apathy from the attendant. Despite being a loyal customer for over a year, she showed no interest in assisting me or offering condolences.
Rather than exploring options to reschedule my appointment, the attendant callously questioned whether I would prioritize attending my cousin's funeral over my nail appointment. To add insult to injury, she informed me that due to the late change, I would forfeit my deposit with no possibility of a refund or transfer to a rescheduled service.
Seeking to escalate the matter, I requested to speak to the manager, only to be redirected to sending a DM on Instagram. This dismissive response further exemplifies the disregard for customer care and satisfaction at Brand Nail Studio.
In times of distress, the lack of compassion and flexibility displayed by Brand Nail Studio is utterly unacceptable. I urge the management to reconsider their policies and prioritize empathy and understanding towards their customers, especially during challenging circumstances. The manicure prep work was minimal in my opinion. The nail tech used an efile even to prep my nails and didn't even trim my nails down to match the same length. I'm used to nail techs asking me and/or doing this on their own when they ask what shape I want my nails so I assumed she was doing this as well. The powder nails themselves are super thick, which can be expected with dip, but they are also uneven thicknesses on each nail. During my appointment the salon started getting busy and I could sense the nail tech beginning to rush through my service especially since she nipped me multiple times with the efile. At the end of the manicure there is no hot towel, she didn't even wipe off the lotion off the nails at the end of the service. There was polish applied all over my cuticles and under my nail plate that I ended up having to dig out.
I felt like the quality for the price is absolutely disproportionate and have had so many better experienced at other salons in the city. I didn't have time to ask for adjustments as I came during my work break, but will definitely not be coming back.

The reason for giving 3 stars however is for lack of info/communication. I have never been to a salon that charged different prices for add-ons so I was new to the whole system and sent a DM for help. I specified that I need a refill and that my nails were currently long but I wanted them shorter and with a certain design. I even sent photos for reference. I was told to just do acrylic refill + detailed design on all 10 fingers. I booked that but I changed my mind on the design so I switched to simple design. When I got to the salon however, my nail tech told me I shouldāve added shape and cut too. I wish that whoever I DMād wouldāve specified this since I did give them all the information I could.
