I still remember how impressed I was when this bar/restaurant opened. The food was actually quite excellent and the drinks were fantastic and reasonably priced. The last two times I've been there my experience has been less than nice, and we will not be returning. A couple of months ago I went with a couple of friends at a relatively early hour. Early enough that we were there only patrons in the restaurant half of Bardot. The music was excessively loud, to the point where none of us could hear what the other was saying. We asked if they could turn it down in the restaurant area and they refused. So the only people in the room were miserable. Then we went back and tried again a few days ago. The waiter handed us a stack of dirty paper menus (about ten menus for 3 of us). When the waiter came back to take our orders, everything that we asked for was not available. It's a small menu, so it would have been nice if he could have told us there were only about 5 dishes we could choose between. The waiter explained that the fridge broke, so they lost a lot of their food. My mom ended up getting the lamb burger, which she liked. I ordered their house salad with grilled chicken and was served a pile of rotten mixed greens (you know when the rotten bits stick to the ok leaves and you know you're going to be sick if you attempt to eat it) with strawberries (clearly previously frozen), and raw walnuts (not candied as described in menu). The grilled chicken was good, but the salad was inedible. My daughter had the mac and cheese, which was revolting - Kraft is better than this stuff. It was penne, sitting in a soupy ranch dressing consistency cheese sauce. Definitely not the sharp cheddar described in the menu. When the waiter came back with the bill he asked if we wanted to take any of the "leftovers" home. My mom said there were only leftovers because the salad was rotten. The waiter's response was "sorry" and a shrug. He did not offer to remove the salad from the bill. As I write this I'm actually getting angry that we paid for that pile of garbage. I hope the restaurant owners read this review and take it as a wake up call. This used to have a great place - what...
Read moreThis should be referred to as a "BYOB"( bring your own bread). An attractive setting for twenty-something posers to hang out and drink. We were a table of four and after a very long wait for our food (on a Wednesday night) we asked for some bread to have with our wine. We were told they don't serve bread except with an appetizer order. Finally two of our four meals arrived (burgers). When we asked for salt and catsup the waiter brought us a tiny metal bowl with barely enough salt in it to cover the bottom. Ditto the ketchup. We had to eat our burgers without our friends food arriving because they were getting cold. When their ($18) pasta dishes arrived they were barely the size of an appetizer and once again, NO BREAD. All-in all a disappointment from start to finish service and food-wise. And to add insult to injury, the two of us who had the burgers had stomach issues that night and the following day!...
Read moreThe two young guy bartenders closed the bar at 1:30am on a Saturday night. I was with a group of people who were tipping cash all night, and leaving a decent tip throughout. A friend of mine who we were buying drinks for/tipping for all night, did not leave a numeric tip on his credit card bill, due to having only a few drinks on there. At the end of the night, the two bartenders repeatedly yelled his name out loud, then pointed at him and said ___doesn’t know how to tip, _ should leave! Literally pointing at him while doing so, which was obviously embarrassing and humiliating for him. It was absolutely no coincidence that my friend was literally the only black person in the bar at the time. The bartenders didn’t call out anybody else all night for a single thing, only my black friend. I won’t be...
