Mayfair Market by Hung Vuong Food market — Attraction in Philadelphia

Hello, This is probably the only a 2nd time ever that I am writing a review about anything. I have been to many Asian markets around Philadelphia area, because I cook Asian food quite often, and every time people working there would look down upon me or just ignore me if I had any questions, since I’m not of an Asian persuasion. This is the 1st time for me to have a pleasant experience in the Asian market. Everyone here had been helpful, kind, and willing to answer any questions that I had, starting with a very welcoming security person at the front door. Even the staff that couldn’t speak English well, would ask me to show them a picture of what I was looking for, and then they would guide me into the area where I would be able to find items I was searching for. I spent about an hour there this morning just to familiarize myself with the store, because I will be coming here more often. I came here to shop for the ingredients for Taiwanese beef noodle soup. I found everything I was looking for with the help of all the great staff working there. Also, for an Asian market, this is probably the cleanest store that I have been to. Everyone there, keep up the great job. Thank you very much for an awesome experience there and making me feel welcome...

So i go there today which is February 20 at 7:40.2025. I ask the older man for empty boxes that are there. He tell me that they are $1 for and empty box. 8:00 i go and ask at customer service she tells me they are free. Alot of those cashiers are mean and racist. I cant make this up. I appreciate the feedback from the owner but it hasn't changed much..Bruce Lee was so cool and nice and diverse. I don't know what happened to the others. This Market was Kool til today. So today we were racially profiled. We bought groceries went back because my kid wanted Bokchoy so we went back in grabbed it and went to the last cashier we'll she looked in our box that was paid for assume that we stole something. I told her I had the receipt. She looked at the receipt and I snatched it from her and went back to the cashier that we went to first. I talked to the manager with no help, he did not care didn't even ask me..what cashier was it. I will never go again. My daughter was a lil sad but I will not be treated a certain way in a country I was born in by people who wasnt born here. Treat people with respect. There's plenty other Asian markets. No 1 Asian Market is...

Sick of the trucks that are parked on Hellerman, it was a food store prior to this and the trucks were only their for deliveries only !! KNOW THEY ARE JUST LEFT TALKING AT TIMES THREE TRUCKS AND A DELIVERY VAN IT MAKES IT HARD TO TURN THERE AND PARK THERE....Oh and it smells at this time of the year over behind that store disgusting...🤢 You do nothing about it still the trucks are there and left over night etc...Now their is three at times besides the delivery van...And I just saw a tracker trailer make a right turn on the 3200 hundred block of Gilham and it says no through trucks....Sick of it do something about it or it will be reported if it wasn't already...Do better it trash up the neighborhood and takes up parking...
