Today Monday Night April 2nd, 2018 I took my wife who is pregnant, my 3 toddler daughters ages 3 years old, 2 y.o., and 9 months old to celebrate my wife and I's 1 year wedding anniversary. Usually my wife and I would come every Friday for date day, service is very slow, but food is average. The proximity from our house had made this the diner we'd go to. Today however, I decided to treat us, we ordered a $25 porterhouse steak, after waiting 1 hour and 40 minutes for our food, we did receive it. My steak; extra well done! Whats the problem? I ordered medium... It would have been okay if the steak had atleast SOME pink in it but, no completely brown, and burnt on the ends. So, i asked for the steak i asked for. He took it back, and came back to me asking if i'd like something else? I asked is there no more porterhouse steaks? He said there is, the owners son (whom is the chef?) is "going through it"... i said going through it? Well thats not my problem i'd still like my steak medium please. He comes back to tell me "the boss/chef is refusing to cook it"! So, I told them forget it then I just don't want anything then. So, what did the boss do? Decided to nickel & dime me on my bill, to include the following: charging me for everything that came with the steak.. the house salad (which i hadn't eaten)the soup (ok, yes i had a few bites from that ill pay), the dinner roll (that i returned with the steak), the apple sauce (ok, my 9 month old ate it) oh btw my side of fries with the meal was 6 small cut potatoe fries roughly a 1cm in width which i ate 2 of. Whipped cream on my kids ice cream, the free refill that says on the menu 1 free refill per drink, croutons for my wifes salad, and upcharged each of the meals that the rest of my family had gotten $1 extra. So, it seemed to me that he was making up the money for the steak that was his mistake on why i didnt want it. The waiter apologized so i still tipped him 20% because it was his fault but, "the boss" came out when i went to pay, and took my money arrogantly being cocky, and not one apology. Ruined our anniversary dinner. Needless to say, Mayfair Diner an extra 300 ft. Down the road is well worth the 2 minute extra drive from now on and I will never return to that...
