The Pennypack Creek, stone built bridge was constructed circa 1697 at the request of William Penn. It was originally part of the King's Highway that linked Philadelphia with cities further north, such as New York and Boston. The bridge later carried the Frankford-Bristol Turnpike across Pennypack Creek when the Turnpike was incorporated in 1803. The bridge was first improved in the late 19th century as streetcars began operation along Frankford Avenue, and again in the 1950s to accommodate vehicular traffic. In 2018, Pennypack Creek Bridge was rehabilitated to ensure it's service life for the foreseeable future.

Trout fishing 🎣 has absolutely sucked here the last 2 years. I've talked to over 40 anglers and they all said the same thing. The price of a fishing license goes up substantially and 10 anglers in this spot can't catch a trout or even see one for that matter. The most alarming thing is there's lots of sunfish, blue gills and minnows swimming all around not on the edges but in the center those is a clear sign that no predatory fish are around otherwise these fish would be near the shore hiding and evading

This is a must place to take the family. Philadelphia has a lot of great places to see or go 2. This is in my top five.
