Dollar General — Local services in Philadelphia

I love the store don't get me wrong.. they are in the midst of a remodel and the store although very messy before, is starting to look great. If you haven't been to this location for awhile they have rearranged the store and added more aisles of food including fresh items. They have added new lighting and it now has a more updated look. The shelves remain somewhat bare but i have confidence that the store will continue to improve as they find more staff and put out the stock they receive. It is much improved compared to last year. I continue to shop here because stores like this are desperately needed in this area. If it was fully stocked and clean it would be a godsend. I have only one small complaint/observation/concern. Yesterday the inside temperature of this store was stifling. I felt bad for the employees. It was over 105 degrees outside and the temp in the store was hot and very humid with no circulation whatsoever. Its very uncomfortable to shop when its 95 or higher in the store. If you have asthma I wouldn't recommend this store until they service their Air Conditioning system. I was only able to browse the store for a short time before the heat in the store made it a very negative experience. I would be happy to change my review if this is fixed in the near future. I shop here 7-8 times a week, out of convienience. The bill is NEVER less than $30.00. the people are awesome that work there, with the huge exception of the woman in her 50's with the dark hair and glasses!! She must know someone because she is ignorant and rude and it doesn't seem to matter if you tell someone, she is still there, still wearing the same rudeness! She assumed because I had a lot of children with me that I was paying with food stamps and she made it a point to ask out loud in front of a crowded store, I wasn't, I don't even receive food stamps. but I was embarrassed just the same at her judgement of me. (I am a retired police officer who just got custody of my 4 grandchildren). On another occasion my grandson (2 years old) was upset that he couldn't have a toy. After I left she talked about me to the people who were in line behind me. She said HER children would never act like that, she should control him.... What she didn't know is she was talking to my daughter! Today I had diapers and baby food up on the counter, she said I'll be right there (she wasn't at the register yet), I reached to get a soda and she took the people behind me in line first! I guess it's time to change my shopping store, seems like she's only getting more hours and seeing her in there is starting to get to me. Not worth the...

This is a Good store and the prices are reasonable but they stay crowded with only one cashier. I can deal with the crowd but it's very rare that they have two cashiers. Also I don't know if it's the people who come in the store or if it's the store associates who don't care how the store looks but the store is for the most part always messy.
