I originally gave 5 stars & always highly recommended this diner bc the food is amazing & the service, well that USED TO BE amazing too. After the awful service we received yesterday I had to change my rating & my review bc I don't believe we will ever be ordering from or recommending the Liberty Bell Diner ever again, which is pretty sad bc this was always our go to for breakfast. We order from here a lot, spent a lot of money here & we always tip very well. We ordered breakfast yesterday at 11:36am at 12:38pm we get a call from the delivery driver saying that the girl that took our order over the phone misspelled our street name & that he would be here with our delivery in a few mins. After waiting until 12:52pm, I called the diner to find out what was going on with our delivery. The girl Bell who answered the phone put me on hold while she called the delivery driver, he told her he was around the corner from our house. I decided to go wait at my front door, after waiting until 1:00pm & still no delivery driver in sight I called back to the diner again to speak with Bell to inform her that we no longer wanted the order bc at this point our food was on the road for about 45 mins or more & we did not want cold food. I was put on hold again while she called the delivery driver once more. While I waited on hold the delivery driver finally showed up with our order. When we answered the door the driver was still on the phone with the girl from the diner yelling. After I refused the order the driver then gives me the nastiest attitude as if I did something wrong. The girl Bell who still had me on hold gets back on the phone & asks me if I just wanna check the food first, I tell her yet again I don't want it & there is no reason for me to waste my time checking the order that's been in this man's car for an hour. Now with a very annoyed attitude Bell then says she will have the cook remake our order & have it delivered to us, I told her ok, but I didn't want that nasty driver delivering my food again & with her annoyed attitude she says ok. After 5 mins, my husband & I decided we didn't even want our order remade bc after the way I was treated by the driver & the employee there was no way we could trust that our food wouldn't be tampered with, so I called back again to cancel it altogether. We ended up having a very hard time finding somewhere else to order from bc it was 4th of July, but we finally got something to eat after 3:00 in the afternoon & ended up having to spend $75 instead of $30. After our experience yesterday I wish there was a negative star rating bc that is what they...
Read moreI usually order delivery late at night sometimes not until after midnight. I usually use a third party app to order and a lot of times I have to physically call the diner because I need help with placing my order on the apps. A lot of the time Allison answers the phone and she is so helpful polite and efficient. She knows exactly how to help me order through the apps so that I get the correct items that I need. She is always so patient with me and it helps a lot that she's so knowledgeable. If I didn't have her to help me I would probably be less likely to order because a lot of the times when using an app to order the app doesn't have the choices that I need So I have to order something else in place of it that's for the same price then I have to write a note about it. I guess I'm what you would consider high maintenance and I don't mean to be but I am disabled and have to order out a lot and it's very disappointing getting the wrong things and it's usually difficult to rectify the problem because even if the app refunds me for any mistakes, it doesn't help at the time I ordered my food. Like say there are missing items. Yeah it's great that I get refunded but still it makes the meal disappointing. I just know that if what I'm ordering is a little bit different than what is on the menu that the app has I always feel confident that Allison will help me as best as she can. In fact all the people I dealt with at Liberty has been really good to me. It just so happens that I guess on my schedule I just deal with Allison the most. If you are wondering, don't hesitate to order from Liberty. I usually either get a breakfast like the jamboree which has eggs and pancakes. For dinner I like the chicken marsala and if I'm in the mood for a sandwich I like to get a Reuben and they are all good meals. Liberty lives up to what a diner should do.... Offer a good variety of food and prepare it in a way that it's all delicious like they've been making it for a long time because so far this is the closest I've come to having home cooked meals when I order out and having people like Allison to deal with friendly and efficient makes it an extra...
Read moreI LITERALLY hate leaving bad reviews, sincerely, but I have to leave this. I had the absolute worst experience here on Saturday, October 25th, 2025 at around 10:25-10:45pm. We had a waitress named Kelly who is such a sweetheart and was incredibly nice. We put our main course order in with an appetizer and about 10 minutes later were told that the appetizer would be coming out after our main meal. We personally didnât care and said fine. We got our main course shortly after and my friends meal was wrong and she sent it back. After waiting longer than necessary, she decided she did not want it anymore since I was finished my meal by that time. Mind you, the appetizer never came out. We asked for the check and it came to $49 dollars and told us we had to pay for the meal that they messed up and my friend didnât eat. We asked for the manager and he REFUSED to come out at first. Literally, said the word REFUSED. My friend decided to walk out but I insisted to talk to him. He finally came out and met me with the biggest attitude and then implied that he had to take it out of the waitresses tips to cover the mistake. He then preceded to tell me that me and my friend are freeloaders and only looking for a free meal. I stared in absolute disbelief that an owner would act this way. Not only did he try to make us pay for a meal that was not eaten, try to take out the money from a waitress who made zero mistakes, but he did absolutely nothing to apologize for any of the mistakes made during this time. This whole thing could have been avoided by a simple walk over to the table saying âI apologize about the delay of your appetizer and for the mistake of your meal, is there anything we could do to make it better.â Plain and simple. Not accusing your customers of being freeloaders who are standing there with money in their hands about to pay for all the other things that were eaten and drank. I will never be attending this establishment with this owner who not only disrespects customers, but also disrespects his employees. I highly recommend not going here under this owner and I hope no one has to experience the...
