First time writing reviews so why not?
I do like this gym and it's like a close neighborhood gym so you would want to represent it and praise it but also be honest right?
This is the gym I often venture to because of convenience but it's also the only planet fitness I feel it would be good for management to check up on their (male) front desk staff to see if they still like their job because of the anger I sense from some or how rude 1 or two may be. (There are many good staff members and they outweigh a couple).
It's also a place where the bathroom will have issues with broken doors or toilets and won't be fixed for days or a week even after reported. I'm almost certain planet fitness can afford emergency plumbing or maintenance.
The cleaning staff on the clock is different from a plumber or handyman. The cleaning crew does great though.
The company can also do better with squeaky machines that need oil or screws at this location.
Thank goodness I have unlimited Data on my mobile device because this WiFi has been switched to a 1 Megabyte download speed which rarely works. They use to have a faster connection. Very strange the speed is this slow.
I continue to come here because it's bearable, folks don't usually hog up the equipment and if I lose my planet fitness card, they don't...
Read moreUpdate: As you see, management responded and I have to say I do agree them for the most part. They can't be everywhere and up to us to wipe down before and after. So I changing my rating to four stars because I've the team actually cleaning the machines and lockers rooms from time to time. But if I could recommend anything if would putting signs that state wiping down the machines when done is mandatory like the masks signs. Because although they can't see those that don't, if way too many people do not. My only suggestion.
The gym, location and staff are okay. The problem I have is the lack of enforcement in wiping down equipment after people workout. Pre-Covid this was recommended by the gym itself and still a lot of guests didn't do it and it wasn't enforced. Now during the pandemic it's even more important to do so and yet it's still treated like it's just a recommendation, instead of mandatory to keep things cleaned. Leaving it to other guests to tell a guest to wipe down a machine can only lead to things going bad. It should be Mandatory to wipe down machines, like it is...
Read moreThe first person I met was Tyliah (forgive me if I misspelled your name). She was epic. First of all, she was calm and kind. She offered to walk me around the gym and point out the equipment. I wish I could express it better. The whole experience was packed with information while still being super chill. Her tone was instructional but not stiff. She detailed everything from the equipment itself to what gym members can expect. I had come with a list of questions, but she provided the answers before I even needed to ask anything. She deserves a raise. You do not even realize.
The place is clean, and the staff are friendly. I've begun meeting with Mike on Thursdays, and he's been very encouraging. I'm tempted to be embarrassed about how puny I am, but he's been so chill. He pushes me when I'm not really stretching my limits, and he's also aware of when I'm not capable of pushing further. I've only been going about a month, but it's been a...
