Had my Birthday party in the rear banquet hall on July 26tth. 2 weeks prior I was told that I was being moved to the front hall because during a walk through, the toilets in the mens bathroom had days old urine in them, the a/c didn't work, 5he kitchen had pots of old grease in it along with dirty floors and other L&I violations. The problem was that my party was a private one and I saw on Facebook that there was a large scale party in the front . I reached out to the business again with this and was told that the rear banquet hall was good for my birthday party . On the day of my party , the place got ,mostly, cleaned by a worker but the a/c still wasn't working, the toilets were cleaned but didn't flush(buckets of water from a sink were used to clean them) and the other stuff wasn't right for the $1600 fee I was charged. Large industrial fans were brought in to help out the A/C problem but the blew hot air, yup like a convection oven . This was a milestone party for me that turned into a nightmare . Knowing that your establishment wasn't right should have resulted in some kind of compensation , even after I told one of the owners that we sweat all 4 hours of my rental. Then I found out that the hall is used as an "After-hour" on the weekends and that when I did a walk through , on Thursday, it hadn't been cleaned yet from the weekend prior. This is extremely bad business. I supported this black business because I knew relatives/friends of the business owners. Never again and I will never recommend this hall to any others

If you are going to charge $56 for 2 drinks I would like to at the very least be drinking out of glass and not a plastic cup. If I’m gonna pay $56 can i at least have a garnish? Plastic cup, no garnish, drink was not good. I don’t mind paying for things that cost but at least make me feel like i paid for something valued at $56. The DJ was trash lol he played like 4 birthday songs in a row. Maybe it was his birthday. Aside from the overpriced drinks and lame music, there was a $20 cover. So if you’re any good at math I’m now $76 in. For that price, I need to be impressed and I’m not. If the cover was $10 and drinks were fairly priced i would have given 4 stars bc the building was nice and there was enough seating for everyone if need be. They also have a dance floor and pool table (which unfortunately was not in use) so you’re gambling with that one. Kings if you’re reading this, your prices are too high for your location. It’s not downtown or a waterfront. You’re located in the hood charging downtown prices. Y’all will never last if you don’t change that. I would not go back- too expensive for no good reason.

My husband, daughter, and I were invited here for a surprise gathering. Immediately knew it was for a younger crowd by the music that was playing. The set up was nice... and then we went to sit down. The tables had burn marks in them... which really wasn't bad... it gave them character... but the benches...I almost didn't want to sit down. There were burn marks in the benches and they were filthy. It looked like people had been standing on them and putting out cigarettes on them. The food was surprisingly good. I had the fish tacos which were stuffed. My husband and daughter had the boneless wings. They enjoyed them. The young lady that took care of us was very nice. Made food suggestions, checked on us often and made a great lemon drop... And then came the Marijuana... The place was probably really nice when it opened and it still has potential. I wish the owner would take more pride in the establishment.

Didn't eat. Didn't drink. Wanted to, though. It wasn't even crowded. Once, I sat down at the bar with another potential patron...waited a couple minutes, no acknowledgment from 2 bartenders at all who were standing at the bar. Sat a little longer because the Sixers were due to come on, and we hoped to eat and catch the game, still no service. We eventually up and left. Might swing by again to see if I have a better experience

Came back for an update. I actually returned several times (e.g., Happy Hour, birthday event, Eagles game, fish fry, R&B room) and had cool experiences. Can't negate those experiences, BUT this last one receives no redemption.

FYI, the free shots for the 2022-2023 Eagles season were served in communion size cups. It's still comical today. They may have changed this season. However, I haven't been back on game days. The food is okay. Usually, I went for drinks and hookah

Unfortunately, since October 13, 2023, I have not returned after attending my 2nd R&B room event. I won't return and debated doing this review, wanting to brush off the experience 🙃. So, I purchased tickets in advance and showed up with 3 others. We were like the first 10 people in line. We were told which tables/sections were reserved and what tables upon entry. There were only like 3-5 unreserved high-top tables. We were intentional about arriving early as we knew this event would get packed. Let me first say we had to wait in the cold and the doors didn't open when they advertised. We did get a table and purchased drinks. Was told you had to buy doubles 🙄 never heard of this lol. We were considering hookah but wanted to wait for the event to really get going. I was getting food and stood in line. Meanwhile, as I was waiting in line, a friend informed me to hold off as the waitress had just told came to say, unfortunately, yall would have to move as the table was now being sold. Wild AF. We weren't even even provided an opportunity to purchase. We even considered the possibility of the waitress lying to have a group of males sit or line her own pockets. Regardless, of course, we left because clearly our business wasn't needed. The 4 of us have no plans to return. There are too many other blacked owned bars in the city with better customer service, food, cheaper drinks, and a great time. Ended our night at another black own bar with great customer service, food, drinks, and music. Just wasted time and money beforehand

I don't anticipate a response, as my last review from a year ago 🙃 wasn't addressed. Really don't need one. However, my review was helpful to...

My friend found this place on TikTok. From the video, it seemed like it was a vibe. We drove from Jersey, about an 1hr10min commute. The parking was street parking, but it was free. We arrived about 11:45pm. According to Google, they close at 2am. We get there and are seated right away, there was no wait. It was not busy at all. DJ was playing some great music, although it was blaring. The atmosphere did not feel clean and the bathroom was disgusting. It took about 5-10 minutes to get a server. We ordered drinks and some chasers, everything came out quickly. We then ordered our food, with high hopes for it to taste good as the menu looked promising. We were then instructed to pay for the food directly after, including tipping. While I think this was odd, we proceeded and waited for our food. The server comes up to our table about 30 minutes later, stating they were out of 2 items. We understand that happens so my two friends substitute for something else. We ordered hookah in the mean time, which is a different server and $40, that went well, we enjoyed the hookah. About 15 minutes later, the server comes to our table again, stating that the kitchen ran out of other items. We were confused and fustrated, especially since we paid and tipped already. We then have the server coming back and forth to our table trying to make things right, which was appreciated. She stated that the kitchen closed everything and were only doing fried foods. I almost didn’t get anything but then my entree magically appeared. My friends had to order wings since it was the only thing they were making. We asked for a manager multiple times and no other person came up to us. This all happens over the course of an hour or so, waiting on food. The server had to keep issuing refunds because of this, so we were infuriated at this point. The food came out, in styrofoam to go containers. I got a cheesesteak and it was good! Fries were undercooked, I could of done without. My friends said the wings were ok, probably because they were rushed. There was clearly no communication between staff and the payment situation makes no sense. We asked for a manager multiple times and did not get one. If the kitchen closes at a certain time, staff should know and it should be added on their website or on Google. The server tried their best and ensured I’m getting a refund for the missing items. But, I still don’t understand why the server didn’t know about the kitchen closing. But we will...

The atmosphere is really nice. Clean, updated decor. Bathroom is visually clean and in order. Friendly staff..We didn't have to wait long to order or for our food to come out. The food was hot and tasty. The lemon- pepper wings were very good but over cooked. We also ordered the Kings rolls (chicken breast egg rolls) & cheese steak rolls. Overcooked yet delicious. My fried shrimp & fries were very good and my husband's Caesar salad was plentiful w/ delicious, homemade croutons. Too much dressing but it was yummy. Thursday is, "Happy hour" all day drink specials 🍹🍷 to include very reduced priced appetizers.

Ok, I want to hear your thoughts on this.... Your server takes your order to include drinks. You order Margaritas @$7 each which is extremely reasonable. She asks you which Tequila you prefer; Patron, 1800, etc. She says it doesn't matter which you choose because they're $7 it just depends on what you like. You choose your Tequila. When you get your bill you see shots that you never ordered in your bill. You ask your Server and she says "oh, when you choose the "Premium" Tequila, it's considered a "double" and you're charged an additional $7 per drink. " I said, you never mentioned that when we ordered." I told you this was our first time here to eat. You asked us which Tequila was our preference as if it didn't matter which you ordered and you also said the drinks are $7 regardless which one you choose. You never said that the Premium was $7 more each....Instead of her apologizing and having the extra charges removed, she just smiled and said nothing. Am I crazy or expecting too much or should she had removed the charges??? Plus we tipped her, 22%. Because she was so pleasant and attentive‼️

The food, portions, ambience and service were good enough to return yet I will inform the Server to have the cook not overcook the wings & egg rolls and stick with the Happy hour house liquor if...
