3-Star Review for Green Cafe
I’ve now visited Green Cafe three times because, truthfully, I really wanted to like it. The atmosphere is charming, the plating is beautiful, and the staff is incredibly polite and pleasant. You get the sense that they enjoy being there, serving people, and creating an experience. Unfortunately, that enthusiasm doesn’t quite translate into attentiveness or follow-through.
Each visit, I’ve noticed a consistent pattern: orders aren’t written down, follow-up questions are rarely asked, and when something is forgotten or brought out incorrectly, the response carries a slight air of “wait—was that what you ordered?” rather than an effort to make it right. While I might have brushed it off as a one-time hiccup, by the third visit, it became clear that this is just how things operate here—even when the café isn’t busy (we’ve always come after the brunch rush, with no more than 3 tables seated around us).
As for the food, again, it looks amazing—but the flavors just don’t match the visuals. Savory dishes often arrive under-seasoned, and we’ve found ourselves grateful for the condiments on the table to bring things to life. I don’t usually modify my food—I order straight off the menu—but others in my party occasionally request something like “well done” " no ice please" or “add cheese,” and those details consistently get missed.
The drinks are another story. Visually, they’re stunning—artful, layered, and totally Instagram-worthy. But once you begin to stir or combine the toppings, it quickly becomes a mess, with melted ingredients dripping over the glass and table, making it difficult to enjoy and impossible to get a consistent flavor.
I genuinely want Green Cafe to succeed. With more attentive service, a stronger handle on customizations, and flavors that live up to their presentation, it could easily be a five-star spot. But until the staff is better trained on the menu and more present in the process, I can’t justify a higher rating—especially after three separate visits with the same issues.
Here’s hoping they work out the kinks, because the potential is there. If you have a sweet tooth, love French toast, and enjoy taking a pic before a bite.... This is the...
Read moreI am not writing this review to criticize the company, but to ensure that the product becomes better. Before my visit on 6/10 , I visited this restaurant about a year ago. I thought the food was great the 1st time! However, my visit yesterday on a Tuesday (very slow crowd) was a horrible time!! The waitress and the dishwasher were nice, but the food was TERRIBLE!
The mini restaurant was not the cleanest I’ve been to. To start, there were very visible old food, crumbled on the floor as we pushed our chairs back to sit. The forks and spoons were not clean, and the black napkins provided had red residue inside. The restaurant smelled like an old mop was used to clean the floors, which I was shocked by, but I still decided to stay because maybe they were understaffed this day.
Well, this was very a bad decision! I ordered fried chicken & stuffed peach French toast. My mom ordered grits, eggs & sausage. I’ll just jump right into it and admit that I have NEVER tasted such bad food in my life! My mom was so upset at her food she said NOT A WORD! . The grits they provided, were so watery like soup, and her sausage meat was pink inside. She sent both plates back and when they returned, it still was pink inside and the grits were still VERY WATERY. She was done!
I took one bite of the French toast and had a horrible aftertaste from the filling. My chicken was very mushy inside and it looked old and stale. Immediately after my reaction , we called the waitress over and ended our visit here. I decided to pay for this meal because I wanted no problems. The waitress gave me some type of discount off, but I still ended up fronting a $35 bill, including a small tip. We left everything behind besides our pocketbooks.
I hope whoever was cooking this particular day, Tuesday June 10th at around 2pm , relearn the process. I am so disappointed in this establishment, and won’t be returning, or at least to this location....

First, we got seated at 12:45 but a waiter did not attend to us until 1:20pm. Thus, our order did not get taken for a full 35 minutes and our table did not receive any refreshments/water during this time. That is unacceptable. Furthermore, when our waiter finally gave us water, he threw down the straws on the table and walked away as if he were mad to be serving us. This was very unsettling because the staff was openly displaying unprofessional behavior. He then left and didn’t return until 1:50pm to ask us to repeat our orders because he had not yet placed it. Thus, we waited a full 30 minutes just to be told that our food was not even in the process of being cooked. We were so frustrated we decided to leave without getting food because the waiter obviously was ignoring our table. When we told him to just bring us the check in order to pay for our drinks, he became very irritated with us so we went to talk with the hostess. We asked the hostess to bring the manager but she totally ignored us and brought back the waiter who continued to be very rude to us. It’s also important to note that my friends and I were one of the first people to arrive for brunch, yet we were not even served while other incoming people got their orders before us. Although I wish it not to be, I am sure our table was discriminated against because we were a party that consisted only of women of color and we were the only ones that had a bad experience with the staff at that time.
This was my first time going to Green Eggs Cafe and this experience was so disappointing and upsetting that I will not be coming to this establishment again. I will also be informing all the people in my social network to not dine here in order to warn them from visiting an establishment that treats its customers poorly and makes them feel...
