I do not leave Google reviews, ever, but in this case I really wanted to use this space to express how thankful I am that I found myself at this particular LabCorp on this particular day. I am a fainter, and this makes getting blood drawn notoriously difficult / stresses me out immensely. That said, Stephen, my phlebotomist, greeted me with a warmth and kindness that was so soothing, and we talked through the duration of the draw. I barely noticed it had happened—he filled the time with stories about his daughter and congratulations for my partner's recent acceptance to a PhD.
That said, when I left—assuming I was fine—I immediately felt how I said I did not feel (like I was going to faint) and crawled my way back up to LabCorp, wherein Stephen was once again my hero in scrubs. I did end up fainting, but Stephen was so kind, thoughtful, and made my experience a lot less traumatic. He let me stay in the room for the time I needed to recover, filled my water, and helped me get my scarf/hat/coat off to cool down. It was, again, the best experience I have had in a medical setting for as long as I can remember, and Stephen sat at the center of it.
