I really wanted to support this local yoga studio. When I found out they opened a new location nearby me, I quickly bought a 5 class pass even though not many classes fit with my schedule. I figured it would be a great way for me to carve out some time for self care and support a local business. I made it to 3 classes and when I went to register for my 4th, I was required to pay for the class. I then reached out to the owner who informed me the 5 class pass expired after 30 days. I wrote back and admitted the 30-day expiration was an oversight on my part, however, would really appreciate a credit for my 2 missed classes. As a single, working mom, both $40 as well as alone time to get to 2 yoga classes are very important to me. Especially when the studio has limited hours and classes. I never received a response. I understand not being refunded for a late cancellation of sorts, however, these are classes I paid for in advance where no one in the studio is losing out. I would also understand if this was a limited time offer / deep discount, however, it was simply $20 a class rather than $22. Overall, I am disappointed by the...
Read moreI purchased a 40 days for $40 new student deal at this studio and it has been wonderful to try out all the different classes! Both of the spaces in Chestnut Hill and Manayunk have a relaxed and intentional vibe and there are also free classes at the recovery center. I've been practicing yoga for awhile, but each class I've taken has offered new poses, sequences, and/or props that I haven't done before. The classes are very personalized as the teachers address you by name and ask if you have any particular need for the class. There have also been fun summer offerings such as yoga Bingo, Mae's Miley Cyrus yoga as part of the Friday concert series, and workshops if you want to dive deeper into yoga philosophy. Be sure to arrive early! The doors lock at the start of class to avoid disruptions. Great studio with an...
Read moreWonderful addition to Chestnut Hill! I've taken the Slow Flow, $5 Community and the Free class and they were all excellent. Slow Flow is perfect for recovering athletes- you get a great workout at a pace that enables you to fully work into each pose. So far I've taken it with three different instructors and they each taught a completely different sequence, which is really nice to be able to get the variety. I especially recommend Nicole. I've been doing yoga for 30 years and hers is one of the best twisting sequences I've ever taken. I would also recommend her for a complete beginner because she is great at verbally describing each pose, so you don't have to break position to look up and see what to do, you can just listen to her instructions. I also love the way...
