My boyfriend booked us the Turkish lamp making class a bit back and it was a pretty ok experience but the instructor wasn’t the best. He didn’t really interact with us much compared to another group that was also there. He helped them a lot more and get them out quicker because they had a dinner reservation which we also had but had to cancel because we didn’t want to rush and take our time to enjoy making the lamps. We also had to keep asking him for glue because he told my boyfriend his lamp needed more glue but never refilled it for us until the very end when the other group left and by that time the glue on my boyfriend’s lamp had dried a bit and the bead weren’t sticking very will anymore. On the car ride home they proceeded to keep falling off. Even when helping my boyfriend it felt like he was in a rush to go home and didn’t get to know us until the very end asking what was our names and where we were from. My boyfriend even wrote a review twice and he took them both down and when my boyfriend sent him a message personally he didn’t address the situation either. We feel that for the price of the class we could’ve had a...
Read moreMy mom and I did the rug tufting class for her birthday and it was so fun! The host was very informative, patient and kind as he showed us how to use the tufting gun safely and effectively. He never got frustrated with us having to ask for help haha and eventually we got it down. My mom and I both really enjoyed the activity. Tufting feels kind of cathartic and we walked away with beautiful rugs! The host was also very welcoming with tea and chocolates and had their space set up for a lamp making class in the front room and the rug making class in the back. The space was clean, cozy, and inviting. I also want to express appreciation for their customer service...I accidentally booked the wrong date and when that date passed and I didn't show up, the host messaged me to check in and offered to reschedule the appointment for free. This meant so much to me that I didn't lose money or the opportunity to do the class. Thank you...
Read moreThe experience was very interesting and fun, and you are given plenty of time to design and construct your lamp. Ferhad was very helpful and gave step by step instructions. My cousins and I had a wonderful time together creating our lamps!!
While I don’t have any complaints per-say, I would definitely change the following:
The rug making class was held at the same time and the sewing machines were so loud at some moments, causing distractions. The lamp making is a very focused activity and the noise from the machines disrupted the focus: everyone at the table felt this way. I would not hold the classes at the same time. *Ferhad was receptive to this and was going to make some changes.
When you are all done they only put your lamp in a paper bag with handles. It would be nice if there was another way to transport the lamp home. The bag caused us to lose some beads during transportation and we were...
