I was very much hoping to love this place. I've lived in Montana 20 years and have wanted to try this place the entire time, I finally got the opportunity and am a bit let down. The selection is massive, The atmosphere is great, it's like walking into an old timey candy shop. I loved that about the place.
The meh part is that the majority of the store is candy I can buy almost anywhere. But it's neat that it is being offered in one store.
The bad part is that we picked a selection of taffy, some lacked flavor and were stale, so it started with a stale flavor upon first chew then just went into the wife and I asking each other what flavor is it meant to be? Same with some Jelly beans, they are hard and not very great.
The great part though and why it is worth 3 stars is because of the fudge, the fudge is fantastic. I wish we just loaded up on that bit. The staff members were nice and personable, The selection was overwhelming and was hard to pick out the candy you desired. ( not a bad thing in my opinion) The price was also very reasonable.
My opinion over all is that, with the amount of selection they have in store, there is no way they can keep it all fresh. The taffy is quickly wrapped and placed in large bins. The jelly beans are in big canisters so by the time they hit the bottom of the jar they are going to be old and stale unless they are a popular flavor. Knowing this I would not go to the store for Taffy ( which I love and was hoping to find a local place to get it from) Nor would I go for some of the unwrapped loose candy. But I would go for the Fudge, The chocolate caramel pecan is amazing. I am glad i finally got to try the place, just wish it lived up to the name of "the world's greatest...

Read moreThis place is neat, but upon further investigation, it's not that special. At least 70% of the candy is candy you can get anywhere like Brach's, Hershey, etc. In addition, it is way overpriced. However, most importantly, they are not very personable or kind. My son is allergic to chocolate (really sucks when you're a kid) and some preservatives. I mentioned this to two and what appeared to be the manager. (He gets migraines) but he also has texture issues..when I asked what was in the fudge, they looked at me like I was asking for some secret recipe. It's fudge. Then I asked if he could have a sliver of the brown sugar fudge because it's made with brown sugar. I worried he won't like it. Mind you, I just spent $69.00 on candy, but they told me they couldn't give out samples. Thank you for being understanding, especially under these special circumstances. Please don't respond by telling everyone that if you did it for us, you would have to do it for others. Nobody was around us, and most people would understand this was a special circumstance. I would recommend skipping this place and going to the Phillipsburg Creamery down the street. They give out samples, are kind and very friendly, and actually make the ice...
