Doe Brothers Restaurant — Restaurant in Philipsburg

So, before everybody starts thinking I’m just a Karen, I want to make one thing incredibly clear. I had my first visit to Philipsburg today, and out of everything, the terrible service and rude owner were what I remember most.

My party and I came in, excited to grab a bite to eat. Drink order time: the waitress didn’t know if they had a beer clearly listed on their menu. She also couldn’t remember who ordered what. It was a cluster.

Order time. Seeing Waygu beef on the menu, it’s logical to think you could have it cooked well, medium, so on. The waitress literally said they cook them how they cook them. She then went on to say if you want it well done, she could tell the cooks, but it would come out disgusting. The next person wanted medium well. The waitress said that because they cook it in between well and medium, she could tell the cooks, but they are really mean guys, and they won’t listen. One person ordered the salad bar.

Food comes. The person that ordered the salad bar got interrogated by the owner after he rudely slammed the burgers on the table and walked away. Not to mention no silverware provided. We were not checked on once.

The waitress comes with the bill, we needed it split. She argued with us that it can only be split once. That’s just their system. There’s no way to split it. She then stormed off like a little baby and went in the back and hid.

We go to pay. The owner makes every excuse under the sun for the poor service, well ruined waygu burgers, and simply says I’m sorry, only comping about $20 bucks. Bill was almost $100 bucks. Will NOT...

I enjoy eating everything here except fish or veggie burgers as neither of those are my thing. The Chicken salad sandwich is my absolute favorite and If you come in on a Wednesday or Thursday expect a good wait for a table and at least 45 minutes for food (some days longer depending on the size of parties seated) as we are one of the only family friendly restaurants open in town on those days. We are under staffed like the rest of the nation and doing our best. Thanks to all those that come in an enjoy themselves and to the ones that don't I hope you come back again with the understanding that sometimes we have off days and forget things and make mistakes because people have interrupted us trying to place your order or are new servers just t trying to navigate the chaos that is Doe Brother's in the summertime. I was so excited about their cute place and unique menu. I ordered a pulled pork sandwich and requested some melted shredded cheddar cheese and the waiter said no. I asked was he serious and said yes. He said the chef refuses to put cheese on the pulled pork because it ruins the flavor of the pork!! He wouldn't even try to ask and refused to sell me a couple pieces on the side!!

I've been in the restaurant business over half my life...I've NEVER said no to a customer if it was possible to do!! I told him to tell the chef to give the customers what they ask for. At 1st I just ordered something else because I knew I could get cheese on it and Frank reduced his $15 order to a $6 kids menu order and as we're sitting there thinking about it we decided to just get up and walk out will never go back there again I can't believe he treated...
