A bit confusing when u order.... Rib steak is ala carte, but others aren’t?!? Coconut shrimp is to die for, but only comes w/rice?!? Smaller portion is offered as an appetizer.... Baked potatoes are an option, but tonite it was mashed (they were out).... asked for a blended drink, was told they had a full bar,(but no blender!)Wtf?!? Really enjoyed our meal, being Montanans ourselves, we loved the beef.... atmosphere in the dining room was noisy w/good overhead music, rather loud, & dim, dim lighting.... looked up @ the light fixtures, & noticed that they needed a good dusting... maybe that’s why??? Ordered my steak Med Well, but came out Med RARE w/blood running into everything all over the plate... nothing like blood soaked mashed potatoes to soak that up! So had the server (who was extremely accommodating) bring me a paper napkin from the bar to absorb the red runoff. Listened to other servers try to explain the ala carte thing w/the rib steak to other patrons, & the limited sides w/other entrees, & it was good to know they were just as confused as we were, in such a dimly lit dining area, that u could barely read the menu anyway.... Ha! Just know that it’ll be an easy $100 per couple if ur planning on dining here.... and be prepared for limitations! Why not just simplify things & offer the same side choices w/every entree? Thank God my husband got my salad, (as I didn’t want mine), & he also got a complimentary birthday dessert, (the server even sang) Or I’d be the one STILL doing the dusting!🥴Again, our server was FANTASTIC.... just waaaay to damn many decisions to make when all u want is a great dinner in a nice supper...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Silver Mill, and I can confidently say it was one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between rustic charm and modern comfort — warm lighting, attentive service, and just the right level of energy for a relaxing evening out.
I ordered the prime rib, and it was exceptional. Perfectly cooked to a tender medium rare, with a beautiful crust and rich, savory flavor throughout. The seasoning was spot-on, and the portion generous without being overwhelming. Every bite practically melted in my mouth.
What really elevated the experience was the wine pairing. I asked for a recommendation, and our server suggested a bold red that complemented the prime rib flawlessly. The wine brought out the deep, smoky notes of the meat while offering its own rich, velvety finish. It was clear that someone at The Silver Mill knows their pairings well.
To finish the meal, we shared a slice of warm bundt cake topped with a luscious toffee sauce — and it was heavenly. Moist, rich, and just the right amount of sweetness, it was the perfect comforting end to an already stellar meal.
While the menu also boasts a tempting variety of burgers, pasta, and sandwiches — which I’ll definitely return to try — the prime rib, perfect wine pairing, and that unforgettable dessert make The Silver Mill a place I’ll be recommending to everyone....
Read moreBest food we've ever had in Montana. It was a wonderful experience and a charming space on top of the great food. Tony, the chef, came out and talked to us. He really knows what he's doing. My husband was hesitant about getting seafood in a small town in a landlocked state...but he got the shrimp-scallops New Orleans and it was AMAZING. The shrimp and scallops were fresh and cooked to perfection. It felt like we were back in New England. I got the special, a filet with crab and it was again cooked perfectly and delicious...I definitely stole some of my husbands dinner though. We ended up having to bring our 1 year old after loosing our babysitter for the night. We personally felt uncomfortable because there were two other tables, definitely out for a nice date, as we walked in with our son (it was a Sunday night) BUT the staff and Tony were so kind! They grabbed a highchair and brought out our food for him within 2 minutes to keep him occupied. He did much better than we thought he'd do. They made it clear that children are welcome, but personally, I would maybe avoid dinner dates with your 1...
