Cholla Park — Attraction in Phoenix

Decent little park with a large open area adjacent to a baseball field that gets lots of use. Lots of dog owners don't pick up after their dogs; I was there today picking up after mine and had to dodge about 4 other land mines. There's a second, more hidden grassy area in back, past the pickleball courts, including a small gazebo. The playground is small but serviceable for young kids, the restrooms are pretty rough but they do have running water and soap... Parking lot is pretty small and can get full for baseball games, but at other times...

It is medium sized to a large city park. Good parking lot. Two handicapped parking spaces. Restroom with functioning cool water fountains. Good ballfield. Small playground partially foam partially sand. Limited. Sign states additional parking at school. Not very close. Park had Quail, rabbits, love birds. I saw around 20 lovebirds under a tree near southeast corner of ball field. Single sand volleyball court on Southside. 8 good pickleball courts. A number of ramadas and picnic tables have grilles in better than...

Eh. As a parent, it's ok I guess (depending on the time of year). The playground area isn't covered so all the swings and equipment are super hot in the summer. I'm guessing it's a lot nicer in the winter. The grass areas would be nice if the dog walkers picked up their pets poop, but a lot don't so there are quite a few landmines to watch out for.

I still gave it three stars because there do seem to be some other nice amenities like tennis courts and...
