Update shortly after writing this review i did speak to a police officer. If she keeps doing it i can call it in for harrassment as a emergency because it's now becoming a daily routine for her each time I'm at the park making me feel unsafe. That's good to know. So i hope this review helps others that feel like they are stuck in situations like this. The cop said don't hesitate to call it in before it gets out of hand. 🙌👍🏻
I'm only rating it one star so 2 months ago I met a girl name Mariann, I used to help her out along with others with food, then 1 day I decided i didn't want to socialize with her anymore, & I told her that. You'd think she would move on & leave me alone. Instead what does she do, she harasses me & the people I talk to. One day she rolls up on us blocking the road recording, yelling at us saying she has power & she will get us kicked out, cars was behind her trying to get to the park, she wouldn't move. She was blocking the back street, then after she said what she said, she left. Lots of other times I noticed, she drives past my car, records videos & takes photos of my license plate & my car. I know taking photos isn't a crime, but doing it repeatedly on a daily basis feels like harassment. So I talked to a few of the park people who work there, they told me they can't do anything about it. Probably why she keeps harassing me & others at the park. She goes around telling people I'm on drugs when I'm not. I'm a professional pet/house sitter. If i was on drugs I wouldn't be able to have the job I have. I have 5 star ratings, & I'm a star sitter. I stayed away for 2.5 weeks because I was working, as soon as I come back a few days ago, shortly after not even 2 minutes she is driving in the parking lot towards the back, I'm parked in my car minding my business & she drives by my car recording my car, she flips around & parks in front of my car. I see her take another photo of my car. Yesterday she drives by my car super slow & after she hit a speed bump she drives off super fast. My new friends that i met were like what was that all about? I have asked her in the past, questions with whats her problem & she wanted to fight me. I'm not a trouble maker, so i got in my car & left. She drives a smokey grey kia, this has been happening each time I come to the park for 2 months now. If she doesn't back off I'll have no other choice and call the cops for harassment, it's now feeling more like she is threatening me and I'm concerned about my safety. I refuse to leave this park. I love coming here because the public restrooms are private and have doors. I wish there was more to be done about situations like this. Coming to a park, it's suppose to feel peaceful. When i spoke to some of the workers & people who come here i found out she has been coming here a few years & they said she causes trouble with others in the past. I don't want any trouble. I come here when I'm not working & when I see her I keep my distance. I wish she would do the same and just leave me alone already! I don't want to have to get the cops involved over a situation that can be avoided all together. Just be aware that this park is nice, but people here seem to be really weird when they don't have their way with you. Now you see why others & I dont want anything to do with her because we seen her like this with others as well. The sad part is, the people who don't like her because they seen how she is, now hangout & talk to her because they don't want her going after them like she has been with others & me. I don't care that people hate me because of her lies & i dont care that people spread rumors about me, that's on them to think what they want about me when they don't know me...
Read moreNice enough park, it absolutely adds some much needed greenery to this desert landscape . also, I'm sure glorious shade , providing relief to many with its tall circumfrincing trees growing throughout the park. It's centrally located within pheonix/Glendale and from what I could see going at the time I did ,being dark out I could only see what the streetlights within the park illuminated, looks to me as if there is a little bit of everything for folks to enjoy. I saw beach volleyball courts full of sand pits, basketball courts, beautifully laid smooth walk/ rollerblading pathways around and through the park, and of course the "lake" ,the only reason we decided to go was to go fishing, on the far end of the park. As I mentioned it was night time and dark when we arrived so I wasn't able to get a full proper view of amenities but I believe i saw restrooms on the other side near the volleyball and basketball courts. Their were a lot of families and couples out enjoying the park even at the time we went and everyone was pretty pleasant . The fishing part sucked but only because I didn't catch anything lol . I didn't really expect much anyway with it being a city park and was the wrong time to go fishing really but my daughter wanted to go so we went. The 4 stars is really just because there was so much floating garbage in the water the night we went along with several floating dead fish. I mean it's arizona and hot as hell and well there are almost as many people living outside these days as people in houses so garbage is to be expected I suppose. Anyway we'll go...
Read moreRoadrunner Park is exactly the definition of when I think of what a park should be . There is always a really good energy here , I think my favorite thing here is the feeling of community. Like right now, everyone is out doing their laps around the park . From groups of the walking talking ladies to the some dude walking his dog, or the couple who like to start their day off active and healthy. There is so much to do here . Check list, beach volleyball, basketball court, a few baseball diamonds, soccer/football field, multiple tennis courts, & even pickleball courts, nice playground plenty for the little ones to climb on & slide down . Roadrunner is the perfect size park for its location, I never feel crowded & there is always a place to park . There is a wonderful pond that you'll see people fishing, or out feeding the ducks . There are more than a few covered picnic areas around the pond, along with plenty of trees for natural shade . Or if your like me plenty of places to hang my hammock chair . Oh it's Saturday, farmers market is going on right now . There is some construction going on , building new bathrooms I believe, but in the front part of the park there are 2 handi accessible & 2 regular Porta potties and appears to be 1 reg & 1 handi at the baseball fields, and they've keep them pretty clean . There is a swimming pool here seasonal, I haven't seen it open yet . Really the only thing this park does not have is a fenced in dog park, but they are dog friendly, they even have poop bag stations incase you forget your bags . Great park great community...
