I have been coming to this office for at least 16years, if not more. I live at least 20 miles away from this office and have considered finding a dermatologist closer to my house, but never have due to the fact I have always enjoyed the practitioner's at Stockton & my issues have always been addressed. Today I went in regarding some issues I've had across my entire body. Upon entering the exam room, I told the MA where my issues where, she gave a drape and instructed to undress as much as needed. I dressed down, leaving my underwear and bra on and pulled the privacy curtain to avoid flashing anyone outside the room when the practitioner entered. Upon entering the room the PA, Amy, swiftly slid open the curtain and looked a bit bothered that it was closed (without confirming if I was decent or not)... I had a feeling she was irritated but tried to ignore it. She proceeded to ask me what brought me in, I showed her my areas of concern; never have I EVER felt as self conscious as I did from any medical staff than I did from her! I am not a modest person & not very much makes me uncomfortable. I tried to talk and lighten the mood. Amy took samples of my affected areas with little to no warning on the steps she was performing. Amy's bedside manner is one that now has me searing for a new dermatology office closer my home. I refuse to make that drive to feel so uncomfortable and dismissed. Amy did give me samples for areas on my body, I informed her that I also get a rash on my scalp and behind my ears. I felt this was related to my other issues I have been experiencing. From Amy's response, I was given a feeling I was not supposed to bring up so many issues. She quickly just instructed me to put the same body cream in my scalp... I mentioned in the past a different PA in office had previously given me an oil for my scalp. She then told the MA to go ahead and add another prescription to the list. Upon leaving the room, Amy was not even considerate enough to close the Privacy Curtain prior to swinging open the door while I was still on the exam table in a paper drape and my bra! I could tell then MA was more considerate and tried not to open the door as wide as Amy did when she squeezed through to maintain dignity. My husband's friend recently asked if we would recommend our Dermatologist to them as we always rave and have nothing but good things to say about Stockton. We did, but I now regret giving that recommendation. I never have written or left a bad review.
Perhaps it was a bad day, we never know what someone else is through. However, I hope Amy doesn't make someone else feel as uncomfortable...
Read moreWow. All of the reviews that I am reading about Stockton Dermatology are rave reviews and super great. Unfortunately my experience is far from great; and as a new patient, in fact it has been a nightmare. There are definitely a couple of bad apples in this office. YOU WILL BE SORRY if your appointment is with Amy West and her assistant Vanessa. Her work is sloppy and she’s negligent. The incision wasn’t stitched properly, which caused it to not close in the areas she missed, and ultimately get infected. After a couple of calls to the office regarding the stitches, I was told if the incision is not bleeding profusely then it will be ok. Last time I checked, I don’t ever remember stitches bleeding. When I went to the follow up appointment, I TOLD Amy’s assistant Vanessa that I believed it was infected as it was very painful; when she took the stitches out it felt like she was ripping them out. I was not given a shot to numb it until the last stitch was being removed. What nerve of them to be frustrated with me and it showed on both of their faces! Vanessa told me oh it looked fine put strips over the wound and absolutely showed no compassion as I was gripping the chair in excruciating pain to the point of tears, then dismissed me. 3 days later when the strips came off, there is a huge gaping whole and completely infected, looks as if it was never stitched. Amy West performed a botched procedure! What should have been a simple procedure will now take months to heal. This was a month ago today, and guess what? There is still a whole as it’s trying to heal from...
Read moreIf I could give no stars I would. Poor communication on there part. 10/10 would NOT recommend. I had an appointment at 1:30pm they have a cancellation fee of $50. I called at around 6:30 am to cancel (babysitter cancelled on me for the day and I wasn’t sure of a back up) I left a voicemail as there where not open yet. I called a little over an hour before my appointment to inform I was still able to make it, had to leave a voicemail cause no one answered. No had called to inform me if the appointment was cancelled or not and I had got another text informing me of the appointment at 11:30pm after I had already received an email at 8:30 about it. I get there at 1:30pm and she checks with the provider to see if I can still be accepted. She comes back and takes my information and informs me that I can start the paper work then tells me that since I couldn’t complete the paperwork online and I wasn’t 30 minutes early and the appointment has already started I would have to reschedule. At no point did anyone say you had to be early or they would cancel the appointment and when I spoke with someone on the phone the day before they informed me to try a come 15 minutes early. No on tells you that you only come 15 minutes early if u completed the paperwork online which I couldn’t do because they couldn’t find me Information. I came here because was female blacked owned and that might be the ONLY positive and now I’ve done nothing but...
