Here’s the thing, I’m not one to leave reviews really, when it’s not a “great” experience. I’d rather just not return, But here I am! This needs to be said!
I truly am not sure HOW ON EARTH a place like this, is still in business!!! But, in my honest opinion it needs shutdown. Service, was horrible, which I can’t wrap my head around to how? When we were the ONLY ones there! We sat at the bar, with the sushi chef in front of us. And it took 50 minutes to get our sushi! We almost walked out and I wish that we did. Because not only did our waiter do a horrible job, the sushi chef took far too long to prepare 5 rolls, we ordered. He didn’t give us each one as he prepared them. He let them sitting and gave us them all at once. One roll my fiance ordered which should be hot, was cold. And the sushi chef, wasn’t welcoming at all. He never spoke once to us… It just felt uncomfortable and awkward the whole time.
And to go orders, grossed us out. As we witnessed our server grabbing the orders with no gloves on, and his fingers were touching the food! He was grabbing them, to where his bare fingers, went into the containers, as he was putting lids on. (GROSS) We were eating the sushi then decided enough was enough, it tasted old and it was just by far the worst sushi my fiance and I have ever had! And we eat sushi quite a bit! They asked if we wanted to go boxes, as we had so much left over, we were like absolutely not! Well, about 30 minutes later or so, I got a headache, upset stomach and became incredibly dizzy. I then started having to run to the bathroom going out the bottom, and puking SO much! I’m now onto the next day of food poisoning symptoms. And the only thing, I can think of was eating the sushi. My gut was to walk out of the restaurant and WISH on everything that we did! Because this ruined my fiancés birthday weekend. And I’m now sick with food poisoning. Please don’t eat here! This place needs some serious REVIEW to be done. And I’m sure shutdown. There’s such a huge reason, we were the only ones, in that...
Read moreMy review is taken in reference to our normal sushi place, located across the street (kiddie corner) to Ginban. I'm used to slow service at Sushi places, but Ginban required me to get up and ask for a server - bad way to start our first experience. However, given that it was fairly empty on a Saturday night, I guess it makes sense to have a skeleton crew. They were out of Yakitori, so the server highly recommended the Negimaki. It had no flavor. Biggest waste of $8. I told the server I didn't like it, but all I got was an apology (I would've expected it to be comp'd). Miso soup was a little low on miso. Salad was a little high on dressing. Salmon sushi and sashimi were good. Rainbow roll was a light on fish (relative to our normal place). Kids liked their California rolls. We skipped our normal place because we wanted to avoid the wait on a Saturday night. The reviews were so good that my expectations were pretty high and I really did want to have another go-to sushi place. But overall prices were higher than our normal place and quality was worse - based on our experience I can't see me or my family...
Read moreMy wife and I went here to try something new. We arrived about 10 minutes to 7:00 PM. We were seated right away (the inside was not terribly busy). We had plenty of time to review their menus and waited for a server.
Around 7:00 a server comes and asks us if we would like to order drinks. Okay this is a good start towards our meal. Y wife ordered a mango margarita, I ordered an iced tea. About 10 minutes later the drinks arrive and they got the margarita wrong and made it normal. We figured eh, whatever, the food looks good.
Another 5 minutes goes by and the server who took our drink order comes back and asks if we are ready to order, we say yes and he lets us know he will get our server. 5 more minutes later a server comes and takes our order and as she goes to walk away says, please know it's going to be a while as we have a lot of to-go orders.
Point of this review if you have read this far: If you want to try this place order to-go, as they give preferential treatment to their to-go orders over their guests sitting in their restaurant. Needles to say we left after this very...
