I’m really confused as to how service can be so terrible at a time where this corporation is complaining of business loss. I would think Target to communicate with their employees that customer service should top-tier in effort to retain the supporting customers they do have, but after my visit last night, I realized I really don’t need to shop with Target because they don’t value their customers. I had such a terrible experience with a cashier named Brenda. She was so off-putting and in such a terrible mood that it threw off my whole vibe. She acted like everything I asked her was irritating her. She rang up my items which were literally four things, and I said it’s not ringing up at the right price, and asked to show her the mobile app. She wouldn’t even listen to what I was saying. She just kept telling me to put my phone number in. She could have simply communicated that the price would be reflected after I entered in my phone number, but this was still not the case. I entered in my phone number and the price did not change. This was not a five dollar difference, but literally a $35 markup from the mobile app which is such another Target scam, but I’ll spare you that story. You cannot trust the price that the store has listed. Finally, because she was being so rude I said I don’t want anything and she blamed me saying I was on my phone. The communication issue was on her end because I was not on my phone. I was asking if I could show her the price online and she ignored me and from there she demanded I put my phone number in which I did. I listened. I stopped talking and listen to her request, but she never listened to what I was asking her as a customer. After complying with her advice to put my telephone number in it still didn’t change the price and she was looking at me like tough luck and I had to ask for a manager. She didn’t bring the manager over she went and told the manager what happen and came back and said her manager told her that’s the price I have to pay. No one would take two seconds to scan the barcode on the devices that are hooked on their hip. Instead, they just kept insisting I was wrong. The manager offered no apology or anything and they were able to fix the price but only after I had to insist on them looking at the app and matching the app. The website clearly said if it’s cheaper online, they will match it. I’m just tired of dealing with people’s attitude if I can go to work and fake it for eight hours, I feel like Brenda and her manager should be able to do the same. Get a new job if it’s not fulfilling you don’t sit there and try to rain on other...

Read moreBeware: In-Store “AT&T” Reps at Target (and Costco) Are Not Your Carrier—They’ll Cost You Thousands
I was lured in by the promise of two “free” phones, a matched streaming package, and a lower monthly bill from these AT&T kiosks in Target’s electronics department. The reps—who present themselves as AT&T employees—handed me paperwork guaranteeing everything, so I switched carriers on the spot.
It all fell apart when my first bill arrived. The phones weren’t free at all—they tacked on monthly payments that tripled what I was paying before—and the streaming package simply didn’t exist. When I went into what I was told was a “corporate” AT&T store to straighten it out, the staff had zero record of the deal and told me I was out of luck because two billing cycles had already passed. AT&T corporate washed their hands of it with a curt “can't do anything about what they told you,” which was mind blowing, and Target took no responsibility for these third-party salespeople roaming their aisles.
Apparently these reps work on commission, not for AT&T directly, and they’re permitted to pitch in big-box stores like Target—and I guess Costco—because it boosts foot traffic. But once you’re signed up, neither the retailer nor the carrier will honor the promises they made. If you value your money and sanity, skip the mall-floor AT&T hustlers and deal only with official AT&T channels—online or at a verified AT&T store—so you aren’t left footing a...
