This post is for those new to the area or who just have not been lucky enough to stumble into George's. Short Version: Great food, great portions, great service, Can't miss. Long Version: My business is a few miles away and I visit there weekly (or more) for lunch and dinners for the last 4 years. I've read a few posts that make comments about seating, trays, paper plates etc. but those are all pretty irrelevant if the reason you are going there is to eat. I've had probably 70-80% of everything on the menu and have yet to be disappointed by quality, taste or quantity of what I ordered. Many times George has asked me and my co-workers to sample a new dish he is thinking about releasing. He takes compliments and criticism equally when evaluating the new dish and makes sure its right before adding it to the menu. That is a what I call "listening" to the customer. I've had all the different Gyros and the Teriyaki & Texas are my favorite's. Add Swiss cheese to the Texas Gyro and prepare to spend your lunch time moaning with the most pleasure you've ever had while clothed. (Don't forget to ask for the "Greek" fries.) His pasta and rice dishes are very authentic and you would think that George is part Italian. The seasoning is spot on full of flavor without being overpowering. His salads are so fresh you'd think he was growing the lettuce on-site. But the best part is any customer can order a menu item and if you want the slightest tweak done to it just ask him and he'll do it, he is just that accommodating. Obviously he shares his work ethic and customer service values with his employees too as they are all friendly and helpful. I've asked the cooks mid-prep of my food to do something different or extra and they just nod yes, smile and make it happen. George's = 10...
Read moreLet me tell you something. It's been a long time since I found a good Greek place. I'd have to say since 2013? There was my favorite Greek place that unfortunately closed down. However they set my bar high. Really high, and this place hit that bar today.
We ordered for 4 people including drinks and it came out to under $50bucks with 20% tip! A steal, especially with the portions they serve you! I ended up taking food home because there was so much!!
The set up is clean and open, and there is outside shaded seating. The menu takes up a whole wall because there is so much to choose from. The mural on the wall displaying the menu is so good! Love it!
The food was super good and the service was amazing and made me feel like we had been going here for years.
Seriously! The people working have a warm welcome and felt like they knew us already! There was a (potential) costume that seemed to be a regular came in, and the service was still on top of it! I couldn't tell if this was a regular or they are just that type of place that makes everyone seem like family! We grabbed a menu and definitely be back for our next...
Read moreThe original gyro was quite good. The lamb is seasoned and cooked very well. The spices accentuate the flavor of the meat rather than overpowering it, which is very important for meat like this. The pita bread is nice and soft--not stale or overheated. The tzatziki was great, but there was just NOT enough of it. Though it does cost $0.25 extra, I strongly suggest getting it. They don't skimp on meat portions, so the tzatziki just can't keep up. The amount of tomatoes was a little lacking too, but not really to a fault.
My sister-in-law got the chicken pita and was pleased with it as well.
I chose fries as my side, but I wish I hadn't. I believe they were frozen store-bought fries that were under-baked and heavily seasoned with season-all. Don't be me--be healthy and get the salad (sister-in-law liked that too).
Ordering online with GrubHub was easy and the food was ready on time. The man who handed me our food was very friendly and made picking up our online order quick and pleasant.
I'll be going back, but next time......
