Northgate Gonzalez Market is about half the size of a giant grocery chain store but it has a lot of the charm and appeal that makes it culturally Mexican. Their carniceria (aka Butcher shop) offers an assortment of meats and pre made/seasoned meats for cooking. You also have the option to select hot foods that have been prepared for breakfast (served 6am-11am, while supplies last), lunch and dinner. Seriously, you could buy a whole family sized meal for dinner which can feed 3, 6, 15, and 30 something people. Walking around the store and exploring many of their options, I've found there's a little of everything. I came with my parents and aunts to buy stuff for my grandma's birthday and we were able to get everything we needed (and a few extra stuff). They have a little baked goods section to the far right corner near the registers. Near the entrance there's a place to buy tamales (pork, chicken, and I forgot the third). They even have some juices, too! Some of their product, however, are comparable to products at other stores. For example, I've found that their baby food section is actually a little more pricey than the ones I've found at Target. But if you're pressed for time and don't worry too much about cost, you could buy what you need here. Parking can be a little nightmare since the parking lot isn't very big. Thankfully we were able to find a spot as soon as we drove into the Placentia Plaza.

Be careful when you buy meat, always check what they give you. I bought 6 lbs of meat. The one on top always looks beautiful but you don’t know what is under. Here are some pictures to show that they don’t care about their customers. Wondering if they would feed this to their children. Falta de respeto para sus clientes. Que lastima siempre la Raza jodiendo la Raza.

The Gonzales Northgate Market in Placentia is a downer on our city and on business in Placentia. Put in 5 big trees in front of the Gonzales Northgate Market in Placentia. Remodel the Gonzales Northgate Market in Placentia. I put a photo of the trees.

Complaint Regarding Spoiled Marinated Meat – Second Incident at Store #34

Dear Northgate González Team,

I’m reaching out to report a recurring issue with marinated meat purchased from Northgate Market #34. This is now the second time I’ve purchased marinated meat from this location, and it has been spoiled, giving off a strong, unpleasant odor right after opening the package.

The first time, I did not file a complaint due to my schedule. However, since it has happened again, I will be returning the meat to the store today.

This is concerning as a loyal customer who values food quality and safety. I hope this matter is taken seriously and addressed promptly—whether it’s related to storage, handling, or expiration practices.

For reference, I purchased the product from Northgate Market #34, and the store contact is John Galindo.

I would appreciate a follow-up on what actions will be taken to prevent this issue in the future.

Thank you for your attention to...

Honestly the worst northgate in the area. The parking lot is small and always littered with carts everywhere. Store is way too small and packed. Always seems like they're short staffed. Their produce looks terrible. I came in today 9/13 and they had no carts available up front, they had a delivery truck blocking the driveway in front of the store. The avocados looked horrible, they all looked way to ripe but they're still charging full price for them, limes were all hard. I looked around and decided to just drive over to the...
