Imagination Theater — Attraction in Placerville

It may be a small town theater but...I believe the theater should be getting some funds for remodeling. Saw A Christmas Carol on a rainy day- There's no floor mats to prevent slips, bathrooms are outside ( my husband went and came back soaking wet thru second half of play. The audio system is definitely bad. I struggled to hear what anyone said except for the xmas present guy. He projected his voice ( good job ).

The heaters over head kinda scared me. There's 2 top heaters. One " sizzled" and didn't run properly. I would bet they're a fire hazard and I'm sure not legal.

IMAGINATION THEATER must be in serious need of community support/ financial help!!

We had a tad struggle with several characters being the wrong gender..I mean, Ebbinezer Scrooge was a woman and a couple of kids were supposed to be the opposite of what they played.

Snacks were very basic. Bag of chips $1.00

There was a coffee stand but it was just hot water. Very misleading. A few people poured a cup to find out it was just hot water- no note saying anything. Poorly done.

Wine should be donated from local wineries. Maybe they are? A better selection would be great. A plastic ( tiny ) cup of wine cost $8.00 so I will NEVER DO THAT AGAIN! Ridiculous!

I know that the cast/ director dedicated a lot of time . I'm just giving my opinion. Thank you. I think EDC...

My family and I really enjoy shows here. I have been attending live performances here since my childhood when it went by another name. I have performed here as an actress several times. Professionals here take their jobs seriously but also insist on being sure we all feel safe and have fun! Improvements are on the way for this older building rented out from the Fair Grounds. Exciting to see what the 2025 Season holds for this group of talented board members...

Seating for under 200 people, all audience has an excellent view of the stage where all community members can participate in high quality plays and musicals. Live entertainment is a thrilling way to share family time and be entertained.
