Have been here several times and had suspect service on a few visits but nothing warranting a negative review until tonight. Being that I spent more than ten years in food service management I typically am understanding to the failure of others especially when it's busy. So tonight my wife and I came in at about 630pm. It was busy, I get it. My first sign was the "seat yourself" sign when normally you are seated. A good 15 minutes went by as I saw the two waitresses pour beer after beer and drop food off at multiple times. Finally I began to just stare at any employee who came near until finally a woman crusied up to our table holding a dirty plate with the napkins, empty ranch containing and whatever food they didn't finish on it. She politely said "hello". I was already beyond irritated and quickly said "not sure if we should just go elsewhere but the fact that nearly 20 minutes went by without even being acknowledged has me considering leaving". She replied nicely enough " I'm sorry, we are busy but I would be glad to help you if you would like to stay". She stood their with the dirty plate as if to be ready to take my order. "I said well I think I would like to stay but can you please take away the dirty dishes in your hand and come back to help me?" She abruptly walked off. At that point my wife didn't feel comfortable staying out of fear that something could be done to our food. So we left. Maybe I went overboard but they had ample opportunity to say "be right with you" but chose not to. For this reason I will probably never return. And I am a local, not...
Read moreThere was good and bad with the experience that we had. I can still recommend this place to anyone who is in the area and wants a beer and a meal.
The good things about this location is definitely the management, indoor atmosphere, and beer selection. Problems arose during our stay and the owner was able to give us part of our meal for free as well as the waiter fixing part of our meal that was made incorrectly. The location played very good music and the inside of the Pub looked very clean and comfortable. They had a decent size of beers to chose from.
Unfortunately, some of our food was forgotten and had to be brought to us after asking. Parts of our food were also not made correctly or fully, some of our sandwhiches didn't have any cheese and the fries were undercooked - almost raw. The food is quite expensive and not entirely worth the cost as is, it tasted okay but seemed to lack a real flavor, not good and not bad. I assume if I had been drunk or buzzed that it would have tasted better, but drinks were also pretty expensive. While someone I was with was also using the bathroom, management came inside and turned the light off, leaving them in pitch black with their pants down.
I understand that this night is probably not fully representative of this establishment, so instead of giving them three stars, I will be giving an extra one in good faith - but I cannot give higher than that.
If you want to go to a restaurant, I would suggest going somewhere else. If you want to try somewhere new and are in the area, I would...
Read moreYou've heard of a "Greasy Spoon"? Well this place is the "Greasy Grand Canyon". My rare patty melt was overcooked & horribly greasy. The mushrooms & onions were very squishy, greasy & tasted wrong - either canned or ?? The onions were really slimy! Our fries all came at room temperature. My husband's cheeseburger was undercooked. Our daughter ordered the Nutburger. Her only comment about it was, "Interesting."
The restaurants' layout is weird - like 2 rooms with a small walkway in between.best thing about the place is the Servers. They were good, but from what we could tell all three of them worked the whole place - as in 3 different Servers at every table.
It was apparently Amateur Night for the live music. The sound was LOUD so customers yelled to talk to each other. The 1st room was done in the current salvage/vintage style, with corrugated metal running about four feet high.
The place will probably survive as the neighborhood beer tavern. They have 30 beers on tap - just...
