Hong Kong Inn — Restaurant in Placerville

We have always had a good experience and usually to food is amazing, even tonight my husband loved what he ordered. I unfortunately have a food allergy which I told them when I ordered. When they brought the food out it had what I told them I was allergic to and did not want in my dish. I told the gal “no, it is supposed to be without and I have an allergy to that”. She took it back. I let the server who took my order know what had happened, and explain my allergy and that it could kill someone to have what they are allergic to. They brought my dish out again and when I had one bite I had signs of an allergic reaction so I stopped eating and drank some water, feeling tightness in my throat with an itching and started feeling hot and sweaty with slight difficulty breathing. The girl who brought out the food came back and asked if my order was better now that they picked the item I was allergic to out and if didn’t taste better they could remake it. THEY PICKED IT OUT OF THE DISH INSTEAD OF REMAKING IT! Although we have always loved this place, we will NEVER be back. It was the first time I had ever order a dish containing what I am allergic to at this place, even clearly requesting it without what I am allergic to and stating clearly that it is a food allergy. A different server brought me the check and apologized that the girl who delivered the food did not understand what an allergy was. The server who took our orders and didn’t tell the kitchen about my allergy never came back to our table. They did not charge me for the dish that caused my allergic reaction, and we paid for my husband’s food. Now we will...

If I could give this restaurant zero stars on service I would. I normally take food to go and. about 50% of the time the food is very good when I eat in I would give it five stars. However, today I ordered food to be picked up and when I called, I asked for an extra container of the hot mustard and an extra container of the sweet-and-sour sauce, I specifically asked if there was an extra charge those two items. The lady on the phone said no charge no charge no no charge for extra. When I got there, I specifically asked her if they had added two mustard and two of the sweet-and-sour in my order , instead of looking in my order, she pulled to containers of each out from underneath the counter and told me that would be an extra charge. I normally would not have gotten upset, but I have a really bad cold and I love their house wonton soup. She finally looked in the box and said oh there’s two of each in there and I’m like cool thank you and I left when I got home. I’m taking the and the bag with my food in it out of the box only to find that the container of sweet-and-sour has spilled all over the bottom of the box. I wish that they were part of DoorDash or Postmates !!! This is the best wonton soup that I have found in Placerville since I moved here two years ago, but I guess I’m just gonna have to think twice about...

If I could give 0 stars I would. I'm not one to write bad reviews but the experience I had today was horrible! I had gone during lunch time with my siblings and ordered a lunch special with chicken chow mein and egg fried rice. I got my order and the rice was completely undercooked and the chow mein had no flavor to it. When I called the waitress over and explained to her she rolled her eyes at me and said that I was the one that ordered it and I told her that I just didn't like it and I was sorry but I just wasn't going to eat it and she told me that everyone else is eating it and they don't have any problems and I told her I was like look. Can you please just take it back like I'm not going to eat it. I don't want it. I don't like it and she rolled her eyes at me again and walked away. I will never be returning to this. That is absolutely horrible service and disrespectful...
