I agreed some staffs are not friendly. I bought a lot of roses, trees and shrubs from Calloways in Lewisville, Arlington, Mansfield and Richardson. I almost went to Calloways every few weeks since I bought the house last year. I spent like a thousand for their plants within a year and I was happy with their qualities and services. But today I was very upset with the assistant manager there. It's first time I've been there. I wanted to exchange 2 red drift roses because it didn't bloom for 1 or 2 months and the leaves turned into yellow even I used Scott fertilizer and watered them 3 times a week as I was instructed. The other 12 red drift roses in the same flower bed are still doing good. I was not mad because I understand it can happen sometimes. I am in the good mood and went there with my husband and requested to exchange them. Then I went to the back and didn't find any pot that is blooming so I requested to return instead so that I can go the one in Richardson/Lewisville ones to see if they have any. I was polite when asking because I work with the customers everyday so I always treat people the way I want them to treat me. Everything was going ok. I swiped the card and got the new receipt for the money back. Then I didn't see the original receipt so I asked him Can I get the original receipt please. Because it's normal to get the original receipt back at any store. Besides that I thought I might have the other items on that so I wanted to get the receipt. But the assistant manager rolled the eyes and raised his voice and said you re done you cannot get it back. I was surprised because I think I am not asking for something unreasonable. And I asked why he still raised his voice and stared at me with his big openning eyes and said the transaction is completed you cannot get it back. Then my husband jumped in because he saw him talking so rude to me and asked to see the receipt one more time. He showed it and we saw only 2 red drift roses on that. We said ok and still said thank to him. Then we got out of there and went to the Richardson one to get the better ones. They treated me much better. I undertand the Calloways services are not bad, just only 1 staff may not like me. But he ruined my day and my mood for the...
Read moreI generally like the place but usually visit the 121 Plano location often. I decided to call the Custer/Plano location on Saturday 3/29 to inquire about an angel red pomegranate trees because the 121 location was out of them. For starters the young lady that answered the phone was a bit clueless and didn't really know what a pomegranate was. I asked her what was the largest size they sold and of course she had no clue but asked a gentleman in the background who blurted out "5 gallons". I asked how tall and again she asked the guy and he blurted out "about 7 ft tall" which was great for what I was looking for. I immediately got in my truck and headed over just to fine the 5 gallon poms were about 3ft tall. I went up from and asked the ast. manager Dina if the there were any larger poms than those that I had located and there wasn't. I went on to tell her that I has just phoned the location and was told that the location had angel red poms that were about 7 feet and she looking dazed said, "No those are the only ones." How frustrating to have your time wasted due to incompetent help.Generally a good manager would at least attempt to try and compensate or try to error correct but Dina appeared to be just as incompetent and simply manager"ed" up and said she would speak to the staff tomorrow which does nothing for me and the hour wasted. And for this I give Calloway's Plano/Custer a one start rating.
I decided to stop by my usually location/ 121 and picked up a 7' 6.5 gallon Fuyu persimmon and was treated with 5...
Read moreCalloway's inventory and selection never disappoints. Beautiful fresh colorful. The customer service this morning, however, just kinda make me feel bad. 10:00 a.m., not that busy on this rainy morning, three registers, one employee at each. Being that no one was at the middle register I approached and politely asked if she was open. "Read the sign" was her snotty response, no eye contact, not even looking up. Wow. And I could kick myself for ME apologizing that I didn't see the sign (this is looking out of the store toward the morning glare). I dunno...maybe she was just having a bad day. Or maybe she couldn't be bothered with a senior citizen though an older gentleman who walked up to her register not 2 minutes after me, asking the same exact question, at least got a friendly response (couldn't get her register to get online). Oh well. The young man at the register next here was very helpful and rang up my full cart of ground cover. Not going to judge the whole store on this one person but gee...sometimes you may be the only person that customer comes in contact with the...
