Was put on the spot, center of attention at checkout counter when told to go around to the other side to the back of the line. Told that they just started a new policy. I frequent two other Hallmark locations in Allen & Mckinney. My usual experience is the customers go to any open register. I was so embarrassed, felt humiliated! I did go to the end of the line which I had not seen or realized was there before, nor was I trying to cut ahead of anyone. I then figured that must be what the tacky red tape on the floor with directional arrows was for. I had thought maybe that was from earlier or for the ornament debut? I then decided to leave the cards, gift bag I had chosen and leave! I did say ‘if this was a new policy there should be signs,’ not only red tape on the floor! When I first saw the red tape I wondered Is this store directing shopper traffic flow?! There was red tape on two aisles like a one way direction toward the registers. Read moreSo to be exceedingly fair, as a guy who likes things like demolition derby and the smells of camp fire, pine or cedar and AVGAS, the nuances of potpourri & scented candles or whatever is used to make the Hallmark store are completely lost on me. So sorry because I know a lot of people find this inviting. To be honest, it wasn’t overwhelmingly sick sweet or offensive so I’m going to say they probably nailed it.
The people who worked there were alert, attentive and not excessively close by until asked for. Again, nailed it.
Were items quite a bit more than a big box retailers? Maybe for some impulse items but the selection was what you go there for and for the 3rd time they nailed it.
We came, she shopped & found, I paid.
Added bonus, I did enjoy the Shark & Werewolf finger puppets. (Want to use with my grandson)
