This place has great rooms for the area, relying more on "Gen 2" mechanics (less lock and keys, more interactive switches etc.) If you are a Harry Potter fan, their wizards room is always a treat and their Speakeasy room is a blast!
Now for the 2 stars... The Conshocken location has been advertising a new room for quite some time, "Meltdown". On numerous occasions we have tried to book the room through their online portal only for us to call the location to find out that the room is not yet ready. A few weeks pass and the room is still advertised for booking so we give it another go. This time we are informed that the owner is away (vacation/personal time) and that he knows the room best so try back in a few weeks when he returns. We give it a few more weeks and once again are directed to call the location for booking per the site. We are informed that the owner is still the only person who knows how to run the room and that our best bet is to play it during the week instead of the weekend since he is more likely to be around. Yikes! Needless to say, we are throwing in the towel and will be voting with our $$.
I hope management reads this and makes some changes because this is pretty disappointing business. Having done our fair share of rooms (~100), this experience sadly sticks out as one of the worst. Separating the art from the artist, I am happy to say the rooms are enjoyable, but considering the replay value of escape rooms as a business I am surprised at how poorly this has been handled, again spanning months at this point.
That being said, we love escape rooms and want to see them prosper, so best of luck to this...
Read moreI played the Big Score a few weeks ago. Having worked at an escape room and playing more than 20 rooms at this point, the Big Score wasn't bad! The set was cute, I thoroughly enjoyed the garden starting area and "breaking into" the office. A lot of the puzzles were very unique and fun, but for one of the puzzles we had to find things around the room, and we could not for the life of us find the last one we needed. We even looked after we completed the room, and I was slightly disappointed that our gamemaster didn't point it out to us. Another issue was that, at least the Big Score, needed a lot of TLC. Some of the props were not in the best shape, and the use of hot glue to hold things together was...
Read moreGlad my child didn't see what I saw or I would give one star. My fault for thinking this would be welcoming for a youth. My main displeasure was with the "party room" and ZERO lighting to find the place. I get that it was once exec space but NO effort placed to make it a "party room". Dirty sink, torn up seats, outdated sink/faucet with dirty unplugged appliances, water stain in ceiling. Staff gave me a small speaker/aux cord and dirty iPad to use for the waiver. Put some effort into your business! You're across from Home Depot and could do minor sprucing/storage so that your bachelor party break room could look better. Our youth enjoyed their escape experience and being together that's my...
