Jonathan was manager on duty. He was welcoming, courteous, and escorted us to our table. He offered another table/location if we preferred a 4 top instead of the 2 top . Molly was our server. She was prompt, friendly and our food came out quickly and asked if there was anything else she could bring us. She also cleared away our empty plates before we were ready to leave the table, asking if we needed a to go container and was soon back with it . I appreciated having choices for making my breakfast and liked seeing symbols (also easy to find what the symbol meant) letting me know what was quick to fix and what was low calorie. The eggs, grits and spicy chicken sausage I ordered was nicely prepared. I would like to experience a better flavor in the food. This has more to do with the quality of product purchased. A better quality spicy chicken sausage may be more expensive, however 1 piece (a larger size) instead of 2 pieces of a lower quality can be a much better flavor experience, healthier and just as filling and also cost effective. Testing the quality/flavor of products using employees (wait staff, kitchen and management) work well and promote team building. Maybe you do this already? As for GF and vegan/vegetarian. Would be good to have x - no need for more than two GF or vegan/vegetarian. Can be put on the menu in a block of space. Already, the grits will work. Can jazz them up with offering complimentary condiments and a picture of what can look like. Can be vegan or GF. Condiments make the difference - real bacon crumbles, butter and maple syrup, toppings of a good quality sour cream, yogurt, etc. Neil was at the checkout counter. He was friendly and helpful. I was really impressed with how clean the restaurant was. Having all those items on the wall and the ceiling plus having a well stocked store can make it challenging, keeping things dusted, organized and clean. It was a very pleasant environment to eat a meal in and to go shopping after in the store. It takes a lot of work and man power to keep a store with that type of inventory looking consistently clean, organized, dusted and welcoming. If anything, I would suggest that Cracker Barrel cut back on their inventory in the store and reduce the “artifacts” on the wall and ceiling. Again, thanks to Jonathan, Molly and Neil for contributing to a good experience at this Cracker...
Read moreWe usually love coming here but this had to be the worst experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant.. 45 min wait to be seated which was understandable due to it being a Sunday around 1pm.. unfortunately it took our server 30 minutes just to bring out water, it had to be another 15 min before the biscuits were brought out.. We waited over a hour for our food to come (wasn’t a crazy order, just combos of eggs and toast and pancakes). While waiting the hour, we saw plenty of plates come out to tables who were seated after us as well as being sent out for “to-go” orders. Before getting our food we saw another table be seated, receive their food, eat it, box it, and they left.. all before even getting our meals. The food came out and it was average, we were happy that it was at least hot at this point.. Not sure if it just due to the summer season, but the younger ladies working at this location seem like they are being paid to sit around a chat… When asking for a box for the food I wasn’t even interested in finishing, we had to get up and ask them twice for a box while they stood by the kitchen watching everyone else work. They brought out the tiniest little box when I had 2 pancakes, eggs, bacon, and toast to pack away.. when asked for a bigger one, they said “this is all we have!” accompanied by an eye roll. Shocking that this box is all you have for me to pack my food when you guys have huge boxes of takeout rolling out of the kitchen consistently. She didn’t want to work and she didn’t want to look and she didn’t want to help. Seems like working in a restaurant or in customer service in general may not be for you.. this may be your summer job but it is not a summer camp. Our server took a hour to bring our food but it only took her 5 seconds to drop the check after our food had arrived on the table. The host was amazing and so helpful, I could tell he was extremely frustrated by the lack of help from the staff. He continued to ask the other employees to help him and stop standing around talking, unfortunately they didn’t seem to care. The manager was very responsive to the situation and happily took the feedback we had given him. Overall extremely disappointed with this experience. We will not be going back to...
Read moreThe service here is very poor. The food is average. We came in last night for dinner and went right to the host stand. We stood there for a good 10-15 minutes without anybody approaching us. There were 4 workers standing around the front , one of which was a server. They all kept looking at us and continued to stand there. All of the servers in the dining room kept walking by and making eye contact but never once grabbed anyone to help us. Finally as we started to walk into the dining room to find help, someone came from the back and was not very pleasant. She sat us at a dirty table, the table still had leftover food and liquid residue. We cleaned the table ourselves because we sat there without anyone coming over to us for about 10 minutes. The same waitress who was standing around at the front staring at us, came over and was very cold towards us. Asked us what we wanted and left to put the order in. We didn’t wait that long for our food, maybe 20 minutes or so. We ordered the fried pickles, never came with a sauce even though there was sauce in the pictures. We ordered loaded baked potatoes with our dinner and mine came out with sour cream on it and frozen butter in a cup on the side meanwhile my friend had the butter on hers with no sour cream. Not a huge deal but don’t bring out frozen butter on the side, it was useless at that point. I had finished my drink and had it on the end of our table thinking she would ask if I wanted a refill. She brought our food out and started to walk away after she said “enjoy”. We had no silverware, no napkins and she never offered to refill our drinks. After we asked her for silverware, napkins and a refill she seemed annoyed. She also dropped the check as she dropped off dinner, never offered the opportunity for dessert or coffee, etc. Practically rushing us out as she brought dinner out. It was about an hour before they closed but because we waited 10-15 to be seated, we ended up there past 10 along with another couple that came in behind us. At this point we were exhausted and wanted to leave since we drove 30 minutes to come here, so we didn’t ask for a manager because they were pretty much closing up the place. This was the second time we had bad service at...
