I really like this store for the fact that it has a good selection of clothing including shoes and accessories. Merchandise is displayed well in an organized manner that makes it fun and less daunting to do some real deep dive shopping. The prices are competitive and somewhat more modest than other thrift stores in the same neighborhood. I do question the narrative of their non-profit status and charitable intentions however. The reason I question this is from what I actually experienced upon finding myself suddenly and unexpectedly unhoused having to spend quite a few days and nights on the sidewalk in the front of the store. Not once was I approached regarding my well being or offered a blanket or a cup of coffee. It was quite the opposite in fact. The police were called frequently and unnecessarily in addition to having received daily threats from the store manager. It was a real eye opening situation and hopefully at some point I can take what I learned from that experience and apply towards the greater good. If I was in anyway qualified to give this establishment and its staff advice, it would be that when you advertise claims of being a charitable Christian store who serves the community and helps the homeless etc. and revenue stems from 100% donated items from residents of the community I feel that it would be best to lead by real life examples of humility and compassion rather than just what you claim to do in writing. It's very contradictory. It would be refreshing to witness for example a table set out offering free coffee and donuts every so often and perhaps coupons for your neighbors that are obviously in need as well as other small gestures to show your sincerity to the community. A little compassion goes a very long way and is rarely forgotten. Having said that I plan on continuing being a loyal customer and hope this...
Read moreYou'll definitely find bargain prices here and surely make a purchase of some kind. The problem I have with this thrift store is the cleanliness and organization, particularly with the objects all along the walls (knick-knacks, appliances, toys and especially books). There appears to be enough employees to handle stocking racks and shelves so my recommendation would be for a few of them to spend more time on keeping departments better organized and "easy to find". The front of store has zero curb appeal and needs a good scrubbing from top to bottom including the sidewalk. There are a few homeless individuals "living" on sidewalk in front of store and while it looks un-inviting and despicable to some people, I understand the current plight and am hoping the store can better address the on-site problem. They appeared to be harmless though, so don't be afraid to patronize this shop. The parking and entrance is in the REAR of shop, through an alley so you most likely will not encounter the homeless if you are fearful of street- front appearance. Entrance is NOT pedestrian-friendly, but manageable. Just watch out for vehicles and walk alongside the wall. The cashiers have always been courteous, respectful and helpful. If you, like me, are pinching pennies and trying to make ends meet, make a stop and check it out. Like I said, you'll definitely find bargains. Could be a gem...just pull out the elbow grease and attend to ...
Read moreIt was my first time going to acts thrift and i liked how neat it was, the clothes was very organized by color and books and everything, wasnât messy like other thrift stores Iâve been to and they also had a lot of cute clothes. I give it 3 stars only because place was neat but other than that uuugh especially the cashier girl I believed her name was Argentina thatâs what receipt showed she had long dark hair light skinned and alot of tattoos on arms, her attitude and personality just needs to change she was very rude and had a face like she was on something or just blah, but itâs something I just canât stand if youâre going to work around people, learn how to greet, be friendly, smile donât just start scanning without no greet and treat customers with respect. I smiled once i reached to her and her face was like if she just hates her job, and I didnât like how I handled the money in her hand and she didnât give it back in my hand but the table and I handed my hand out so I can get receipt in hand and she literally just like slam on table how more obvious can she be even my husband notice how rude she was. This was by far my experience...
