Save A Lot — Attraction in Port Huron Charter Township

I would have gave it a minus 10 if that choice were given...I like the prices, and the selection and merchandise, but the worst was that I'm handicapped...a fall risk and must use a walker...I travel to stores alone to shop for my family...my husband is also handicapped, and my son is suffered a back injury, so it falls on me to get around for us...we just moved close to this store and I walked there there very slowly and had great difficulty traversing the railroad tracks with my walker then crossing the busy street lapeer avenue at 24th street. it took me about 45 minutes to walk there with frequent stops to use my rescue inhaler...after shopping when I paid and went to load my groceries...I have a large blue tote bungeed to my walker to carry groceries, I was rudely told that next time I was in I had to leave it up front...I was horrified...I asked my walker...they said no just the tote...my husband bungeed it to my walker with great difficulty...I do not carry a purse just my wallet and inhalers and kleenex and cloth shoppibg bags folded neatly and kroger bottled water and some personals in the bottom...it can be easily checked...I have never been asked that by any other store! My husband fixed the tote to the walker...I cannot physically undo the bungee or do it back up again or carry all my personal things without at least a bag...I was so insulted that that they treat people with handicaps this way! They didn't even ask what was in it or look to see it was easily checked...just got rude and...

The store is well organized, the staff are great, helpful and very friendly. My only problem is the prices have tripled on everything. Every business is price gouging because of Covid, saying it's due to Covid and implementing procedures etc. However, these businesses are not paying the additional cost of Covid the IRS is, giving them many tax breaks as well as ADVANCES on these tax breaks putting the cash they need at their disposal, so the price hike from all these stores is a load of horse PUCKY. They are all double dipping, being paid by the IRS and then charging 3 times what they used to, and profiting from the pandemic and everyone gets to suffer for it. We can't afford to feed ourselves, we're on social security so I dont know how families with kids are doing it, and that's where the tragedy lies. Why the president doesn't stop this is beyond me. Great prices but the individuals who work here should be fired ...Disrespecting customers as they walk in and walk out what kind of management do you have ...And if the darkskinned heavy set lady who worked there on Thursday march 2nd 2017 doesn't start treating customers with respect I will be reporting this store to higher management better business bureau if she still has this job my family has went here their entire life and if it wasnt for customers who would get a pay check ....Hire respectable employees next time that lady was belligerent from a customer entering to a customer leaving being loud and bullying people I will be reporting if something...
