Pretty cool place, if a little heavy on the, uh, "back room of a brewery" vibe that it is. The place is run by someone who works at (owns? IDK) the brewery next door, and even the little checkout machine they use to scan your debit card sends the receipt to the brewery, heh.
Anyway, there's a bit of everything in here, carboys, Star-San, bubblers, fermenters, those big metal beer things that do all the heating and such, wine making kits, different kinds of hops (I think? I wasn't here for them, but that's what it looked like) and all the different little additives and chemicals you might need for all kinds of brewing. The place is a bit "cobbled-together" and dim, that "back room of a brewery" vibe I mentioned, but that's not really a problem. Prices are good as far as I can tell, and the employee working here seemed to be really big into brewing as a home endeavor, talking about different projects and such.
I've pretty much got this place set as my "go-to", since it's local and I don't have to bother ordering stuff of Amazon, plus I can just walk down here...
Read moreWonderful place to get home brew equipment and grains, and awesome customer service. For the negative reviews stating the difficulty to enter the store, just simply ask the bartenders in the Peninsula BevCo to open it up, they are temporarily understaffed. Really great selection of equipment with exceptional prices, with great selection of grains and hops. Look forward to when you guys get some more yeast selection, will be returning many more times...
Read moreMy siphon cracked on me and I needed one ricky-tick to rack my mead on a Sunday afternoon. Ran down there 10 minutes before closing and got exactly what I needed for about the same price as Amazon without the wait. The guy who helped me, Elic I think was his name, was very quick to help me out and get me on my way. Very happy to have a place like this in PO instead of having to slog it over to Bremerton for my stuff. Will...
